Tweedle
Hi, my first post on neowin, be gentle :D I'm about to set up a network at home with two PC's, using a cheap switch (want to be able to add a 3rd PC at some point). My problem is this: I only have one patch cable, the other length is crossover. If I hook one PC up to the switch with patch and one with crossover, will it work? Steven
nope, via a Switch you need Patch Cables. via two pc's you need Crossovers. Go get your self another patch cable or you can attempt to convert that crossover into patch cable ;)
PCKing
Connect the 2 pc's with the crossover... then when you add the 3rd get 2 patch cords and put them all in the switch...
Tweedle
The crossover isn't long enough (machines are in seperate rooms), hence the reason why I'm trying to be scabby :)
