Font in PSD files?

Question

Hey all,

I'm thinking about buying a colored designed font and i have a few questions.

The company selling this font told me that i would be getting 41 PSD files, each file with a letter \ number.

Is there a way \ nacro \ script\ that i can use to tell photoshop that those 41 files are my new font and to use it in a running text without loosing its design? (i'm not talking about making it a TTF file because that will give me a B&W font, something i don't want.

For example if i want to write the word "word" in photoshop i just want to type "word" and see the font without dragging each letter to create a the word.

Thanks

http://www.fontlab.com/font-converter/scanfont/

?

With ScanFont, you can turn graphics into fonts. Any bitmap image or outline illustration can be quickly converted into a fully-workable TrueType, Type 1 or OpenType font.

ScanFont 5 works as a plugin for one of the following font editors: FontLab Studio 5, TypeTool 3 or the upcoming AsiaFont Studio 5.

Unless the company has a plugin (can scripting do this?), I think you'll have to arrange manually since it's PSD and not a font.

Yeah, but not in any formats worth using/supported.

If you need glyphs like that you're stuck using them as raster images.

Like i suspected.

And there isn't any PS plugin that can take multiple PSD files and use them as a font? doesn't sound like a bizarre request.
