Spyntek
Anyone who says that Dirty South has anyone who can flow or say anything other than how much money they have or that bling, bling **** better sit down. Dirty south talks loud but says nothing. IMHO 2pac, KRS-One (The Teacha), Chuck-D, Eminem, Rakim, Common, Guru from GangStarr, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Phaeroe Monch are at the top of the list. Reason? Originality, plus they actually have a message other than money and women. Hip-Hop has lost it's way when the industry values money over actual skills, which the dirty south or a lot of other hip-hop artists lack. And BTW, the music is hip-hop, not rap. "Rap is something you do, Hip-Hop is something you live" KRS-ONE Remember the 9 essentials of Hip-Hop 1. Emceeing 2. DJ' ing 3. BreakDancing 4. Graffiti 5. Street Fashion 6. Street Language 7. Street Knowledge 8. Street Entreprenueralism 9. Beat-Boxin'
Impulfusion
Well I agree with you enigma - penguin but look, I dont think that that "Infinite" song got as big as "In the Club" did. We have to agree that in that track, Eminem was arround 18 years old? Then after those small songs that didn't even got on an album (Correct me if I am wrong) he can with The Real Slim Shady, his first album that was high quality compared to 50 Cent lastest album. 50 Cent got this big also because of Shady Records. 50 Cent got now 3 soungs on the charts and is there one of then that has a better flow? No... Today's rappers even if they arent tallented get on the charts because they get on good hands. Thats what I think... Correct me if I am wrong

Take an example the "Without me Video" Maybe yes, there might be sum graffitis in the background but theres no more brake dancing. It would be funny see Eminem or Snoop Dogg, 50 or any of the actuall rappers do a brakedance! :shifty:
Spyntek
Not all hip-hop artists are required to do all of the essentials. Hip-Hop is a community full of people who contribute their special skills to the whole. Some do Deejaying, some contribute Emceeing, etc... That is what hip-hop is about, not all that bling bling ****
enigma-penguin Veteran Posted July 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 11, 2003 i wasnt thinking in the sense of how big it was rather than its form...... (and then of course theres the wierd tylenol island rap freestyle ...*shudders*) lols there was an unofficial infinite album floating around.. and the day i see snoop breakdance ill buy a mac...lols ..just a question has royceda actually put anything else out cos i havent found anything in my searches (australia suxor) yeah i agree Impulfusion.......... the young guys are moving up to fast cos of the hype right now and cos ppl like dre , snoop and em are proping them up. they need some serious time to practice their skill. eminem practised years on end to get it down pat and he only got that real good sound around the slim lp.. but i dont like his newer stuff... *sigh* commecialism has reduced his abilities im thinking
