here's the list

General Pucknutt

dA_n00b_r@pi$t

n00b_killa

The-Cleaner

CrossCheck (present)

when i first started playin America's Army (ver 1.5) my name was General Pucknutt (huge hockey fan). after i got really good at playin i changed it to dA_n00b_r@pi$t. then n00b

_killa. then i watched Point of No return withbridget fonda and love harvey keitels character Victor the Cleaner so i changed it to The-Cleaner. when i stopped play America's Army (after the botched ver 3.0) so i retired The-Cleaner and have been going by CrossCheck (back to the hockey) since

My name is Larry and I get down and Dirty when I play.

LOL It is an homage to the Clint Eastwood character Dirty Harry who was first introduced to the public in the 1970's action movie Magnum Force. My friends have been calling me it since freshmen year in college which for me was 18 years ago. It's just always stuck.

i always thought it was from the Peter fonda movie Dirty Larry, Crazy Mary

What i go by in many games or their forums(or both) for a few years or so now simply came from a song title from one of my favorite bands. And i'd say it fits me increasingly more these days.

Mines WeRuleTheNight or RuleTheNight(if the first one is too long), I chose it because it's the name of an album and im excited for it's release.

Honestly can't remember, but I know it sucks.

Unfortunately everybody knows me by it (or more commonly these days, my real name), so I have to keep using it.

Lingering Soul was one of Jin Kazama's moves from Tekken Tag Tournament. It wasn't a particularly good move (I don't even think it dealt damage; it just made Jin charge his fists), but I just liked the way it sounded.

Huge nerd = me.

I really have to get around to seeing this movie one day as a lot of people have though that, although I do know it is actually called Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry! See, my name made you change the title of the movie! (Y)

I play under the name SiLENS, which I came up with according to my (usually) silent-ninja-stab-you-in-the-back playstyle.

ammali is a mashup of my first, middle, and last names.

My Xbox Gamertag--xSniperVixen--was given to me by some guys I used to play Halo with. I just went by "theVixen" but I would always go for the sniper rifle and got quite proficient with it (I love it). They started calling me "the sniper vixen"... I should have just made that my gamertag, actually, but I ended up with what I've got now. Without the 'x' was taken, and I added that letter since it was on xbox... yes, I'm so very clever

I decided to use "Predator" as a name on DC++, and everyone started calling me Pred. In real life people call me Big Mike, so for my PSN name I mixed the two. I kind of want to phase the name out though.

hmm...well I've had many :p

Pablo2001jedi - well I can't remember which game but the original name, Pablo, was taken so I added 2001 as that was the year...also taken so just stuck jedi on the end (geek(ish)) :p

Pabs(Sco) - This was used on several PC MP games, I was annoyed that everyone was call me over voice "Pablo2001jedi" so I shortened it to Pabs with (Sco) for Scotland

So general I was known under 2 names for about 7 years...

When I got my PS3 I wanted to get Pabs(Sco) but couldn't and 2001 in the title sounded too old so opted for Pablo2008jedi, which is used for both PSN and xbox..

..But people can just call me "Pabs" :D

Since everyone else is giving their name history as opposed to just the story behind their current names....

First - Viper182 - I was young, it sounded cool, and no I had no clue of the band Blink 182 when I started using it. May have had a few before this, but I was too young to remember them. This goes back to my very first D2 account back in 2000 before the expansion released.

Second - Crimson_Soul - My main D2 account back in the day....I had multiple D2 keys and had multiple accounts, often using a variation of Crimson_<something>.

Third - More of a variation of the second than a brand new name, when Guild Wars came out, I started with Crimson ___ _______, my first character was a warrior named Crimson The Fierce, difference classes had different words for the very last part of the name, but my main name at that time was simple Crimson.

Fourth - mwpeck, A combination of my first and last initial, plus my step fathers (and mothers) last name. Used this more for forums and other similar accounts than gaming though.

Fifth - Current, Nagisan, story in the first post.

I needed a "nickname" when I installed ICQ and I was playing Wild ARMs at the time.... and came up with *Rudy^, I used that for a while but lots of forums etc wouldn't take the *and ^ so I ended up cutting it down to Rudy

Used to be a Slipknot fan years ago, and started using this name because it sounded cool. Even though I grew out of the music, the name kinda stuck :)

My first character on an online game I played was named after a particular mint :D

Then it kind of got changed slightly in honour of the name of the character when the game went from beta to release

It kinda stuck since then

Back in the late 80's when I played Ultima I created a character called Lord Callidor which was just sounded kinda regal to me. Then when I was in military school getting "call sign" nicknames was cool so someone came up with Ironman because of my last name (Inman) and a couple letters from my first name (Rob). The 273 came from my laundry number which had to be marked on every piece of clothing I had back then.

Mine is what an old friend used to call me cos I always used to kick his butt at quake and he called me DarkJedi (as I'm an absolute star wars nut), obviously someone else has that name all over the interwebs so I added the UK, I'll either be DarkJediUk (my main name) or UKDarkJedi in case that's taken. However a very good old friend of mine started calling me Reno (even to my face now) so I'm hoping to switch tho that as it's a little less ubergeek when I get another 360 or Ps3.
