Gamefly rental question?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Gamefly is cost effective when it comes to playing new games so i thought i would give it a try. I have couple of questions.

I searched gamefly FAQ section but couldn't find my answer. I am going for 2 games out plan https://www.gamefly.com/registration/default/

1. Should i return both my games to get the next game in my queue?

if they send a game from my queue if i return one game that would be awesome since i can play the 2nd game until they ship the next.

That would save some time from the shipping delay.

2. Can i cancel my account anytime? is there a minimum period i should keep the account active?

1. No you don't have to return the games same time, it works like Netflix if you have one. You order 2 and if they have it in stock they'll send you both, but unlike Netflix they'll send you the 3rd disk in the queue if the 2nd isn't available. You return the game when you're done and send it in, you can still play the 2nd game while you're 3rd game is been mailed to you.

2. Yes you can cancel anything but it will charge you full rate for the disk if it's not returned I think 7 to 10 days.

Wrong. netflix has done this for me. Im on the 3 at a time plan and sent all 3 in one day. I saw my queue update and instead of sending me the next 3 on the list, they did (1 2 4) because 3 was unavailable at the time, but they moved it back to the top of the list.

But everything else is right.

Personally I just have 1 game at a time, I work so I really don't have time to play that much.

That's what I was saying, I have 2 disc plan so if they don't have 2 they send me 1 & 3 and if the 2nd disk is available while I have 1 & 3 the 2nd will be next in que.

To help you rank your GameQ, we now display more detailed Game Availability statuses on our Web site. The inventory statuses outlined below will show you the likelihood that a title will ship today:

Available Now – the title is in stock

High Availability – greater than 75%

Medium Availability – 50% to 74%

Low Availability – 25% to 49%

Very Low Availability – Less than 25% (mostly rare or no longer manufactured titles)

Even if your #1 title currently is not listed as “Available Now”, we do receive a large volume of returned games every day. When games become available, we ship first to our members that have been waiting the longest for a rental.

We encourage you to add future releases to your GameQ as soon as possible. We also recommend that you keep plenty of "Available Now" titles in your GameQ. That way, we'll always have something to send you next.

Your first post was backwards then. It made it sound like Netflix holds out, waiting till the game is available, while Gamefly waits till they have it to send it out. Apparently it's backwards.
