Exporting a Design into HTML + Images via Photoshop..

Question

Does this method of designing a website ensure that it will look / work fine in all the major browsers? I have a designer doing a website for me, but he isn't a coder so I suggested he use the export web design feature in photoshop to turn it into HTML and images etc.

exports are bit messed up most of the time, better to export the images then do the coding seperate, but I may be wrong

The code will not be validated nor cross-browser compliant. You are best to try to code this yourself or if you can fit it in your budget, hire a coder.

But surely I could run it via the browser compatibility scanner over at W3 and then make the required edits in Dreamweaver that are wrong?

Checking over validation errors doesn't mean that it's going to be cross-browser compliant.

Is there a scanner or service which does tell you whether you have browser incompatibility issues? I believe Dreamweaver CS4-CS5 has a feature whereas it can check for errors in different browsers on your system.

Okay, will probably just get the export, plus the PSD off the designer and then spend a few weeks here and there fixing it up until its perfect.

You seem to know your stuff programming / web wise.. could you please take a quick look at -
