c3ntury
I currently have to use a web-based IM, and I usually try to use Meebo because of its desktop application which tells you about incoming messages.. but it doesn't load in FF or Chrome, but it does in IE. Screenshot of it in Chrome - http://i47.tinypic.com/w2dslh.png It only seems to partly load? I have tried clearing my cookies, history and cache and doesn't help either.. Thanks in advance, C3NTURY. EDIT - Since we are on the subject, which of the web-based IM messagers for MSN messenger has the least .. advertising for the online service, for example one that doesn't put "IM USING BLAHBLAH ONLINE SERVICE" in your name / PM and lets you chose your own display picture. Cupcakes
Have you tried to disable all of your extensions/add-ons to see if there's something disabling meebo access?
c3ntury
Have you tried to disable all of your extensions/add-ons to see if there's something disabling meebo access? Yep, didn't make a difference :/ EDIT - Seems I'm not alone - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071117093348AAT2Th3
c3ntury
Same problem happened to my step-dad, but it was solved by using a Firefox addon called "IE Tab 2" which views certain websites you chose in a IE rendering style but in a Firefox window with the rest of your tabs.. its brilliant and works perfectly :)
+BudMan MVC Posted June 7, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 7, 2010 Not alone??? Did you look at the date of the post linked too?? "3 years ago" It is loads fine here with firefox and chrome

Cupcakes
Same here, it loads and works like a charm. It is loads fine here with firefox and chrome The question isn't "is it down for you or just me?"
nabz0r Veteran Posted June 7, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 7, 2010 The question isn't "is it down for you or just me?" Would you please read his second post. :) ... He thought that all have the same problem.
Cupcakes
Would you please read his second post. :) ... He thought that all have the same problem. Actually, read his first post where he states "not loading in Chrome or Firefox but loads fine in IE." I don't see a "Is it loading for you and not me?" type of question. The 2nd post is completely irrelevant given the actual Yahoo Question pertains exactly to the website's server being available or not which quite frankly logic would just show he's a bit uninformed on the issue at hand. Thanks but no thanks.
Raa
So the solution is to keep using IE8? ;) Strange it won't load in Chrome though, adblocker... maybe?
+BudMan MVC Posted June 8, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 8, 2010 Well its clearly an issue with his machine - can not be his connection works with one browser, and its clearly not a site issue. And clearly the thread where he thought there were others is quite dated ;) Now since we have no details whatsoever -- what version of fox, what version of chrome would be good starters.. What could be in common with chrome and firefox would be something look into?? What about safari -- does it work with that browser? ;) Did you try loading firefox in safemode? What are you using for antivirus? Or security software of anykind? Are you using any proxies, tor with firefox and chrome but not IE? etc. Have you done any tweaking of the user-agent strings that the browser sends? Quite easy to adjust with browsers other than IE.. etc.
c3ntury
Considering it didn't work for my step-dad, who is using the latest stable version of Firefox, with only Firebug and Linkification + FireFTP for extensions I think it wasn't just my machine, but I suspect it may be my ISP (long story) . Anyway I solved the problem and posted it here so people in the future who came across the same problem won't have to go through the same tedious testing as myself. +BudMan MVC Posted June 8, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 8, 2010 Solved the problem where?? Um using IE tab in firefox is not a freaking solution to the problem.. Your just using IE when you do that.. And sure does not fix the chrome issue. As to it might be your ISP -- how so, that makes NO SENSE!!

Thanks but no thanks. Any why are you so angry?? I really don't see something that makes you get so angry/mad. I just answered a simple question to the guy who started the thread and not you, so please keep out of it if you don't have the solution for his problem. No thanks no thanks. +BudMan MVC Posted June 8, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 8, 2010 Angry? Not sure how you got he was angry out of that post nabz0r?? The no thanks part?? I took his post as answer to your question is all, and explaining his thought process -- I doubt he intended any malice towards you. I don't know, it felt like he was angry or ****ed and I also thought that he is thinking I was just spamming, I don't know. :) ... Anyway, it was something in the past so I'll leave it to the past. :D ... Hope c3ntury solved his problem though. Peace!
+BudMan MVC Posted June 9, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 9, 2010 Well he thinks he did  "Anyway I solved the problem and posted it here so people" Which is nonsense -- using IEview or IEtab in firefox to load the page using the IE engine is not a fix for the page not loading in firefox or chrome.. When clearly we all know that the site works just fine using firefox or chrome.. I fixed it -- I will just use IE vs firefox
