+chorpeac MVC Posted June 11, 2010 MVC Share Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) Neorequest was a web site that managed graphic requests for Neowin members. It was meant to replace the threads inside Neowin. It was sponsored and supported by the Neowin leadership. It was viewable to anyone on the web, but Neowin members were the only ones permitted to participate in requesting graphics and submitting work. I'd like to continue the development and bring the site up to web standards. Is it worth the time to do this? Would there be interest in using the system? If we did bring it back to life, what would you prefer to see? What would you like it to lose? Please provide your thoughts, lists, gripes, comments. Thanks. killmaster84
I'm going to say let it slowly disappear, forgot all about it until you mentioned it. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/909450-shock-paddle-neorequest/#findComment-592737784 Share on other sites

JMann Veteran Posted June 11, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 11, 2010 It would be interesting to know what the popular requesters and contributors in the Grafix Exchange feel about this. I know members asking for designs, promising cash and then hot-footing it away from Neowin without any further updates is an issue. I personally would like to keep the Neorequest project going, but it does require a major overhaul. We have tried to get other members involved with the development of the site, but due to lack of communication it unfortunately never really got very far. I'm going to keep a bit of a side line to this thread, see what the other members think and perhaps go from there. Neorequest has always been supported by Neowin, and as you can see from this thread they are moving a lot faster than us, so I think it's either catch up or let it fly. +chorpeac MVC Posted June 11, 2010 Author MVC Share Posted June 11, 2010 I'd like to provide the service to people, but it just depends on IF people would use it. I have no doubt that Neowin leadership would promote it like they did AutoPatcher a few years ago. I think we can keep it fresh. I'm just wondering, would it be better to mimic it off of Neowin or Deviantart... Seems to work well and things get done just as easily, and its not a separate website you'd have to check, this catches the attention of the entire community by staying at Neowin.net. Also, nice little side note, it helps increase the push for posts towards 10 million by the 'deadline'.
