DirtyLarry Veteran Posted June 12, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2010 Here is the direct link to the HD Version on gametrailers.com. I just actually watched it on the TV on their E3 Launch Special. It is mostly cut scene related, but I have to say it does look like they are using the engine and it is not just a CG trailer. Overall though I really would have liked to see some gameplay footage, although one or two little scenes look like they can be in game one never knows for sure, but it is definitely looking pretty decent. Here is to hoping they can bring it back to the good old days of Socom.
AT
From the trailer it doesn't look like there's much improvement, I'll stick with BFBC2
Hedon
Boo for CG, yay for a new SOCOM game! SOCOM Confrontation is still one of my all time favorite military games, right behind the Ghost Recon series. Thanks for the post Larry.
LingeringSoul
It does look like the game engine as opposed to CG, but I don't claim to have a trained eye for that sort of thing (unless it's very obvious, of course). I've actually never played a SOCOM game, but I may have to give this one a chance when it comes out. I heard that Confrontation had a lot of online problems when it came out which essentially killed the community. Hope that doesn't happen this time. Between Call of Duty becoming a run-and-gun-fest and Ghost Recon becoming God knows what, it's nice to see that somebody is carrying the torch for tactical shooters. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Yes, the servers are lighter than before, but I have never NOT found some great matches. I don't think I have ever seen less than 2000 people online. If you can pick it up bargain bin or used, I highly recommend it (especially with the headset bundle).
