Killzone 3 - Gameplay Trailer

Recommended Posts

Today we?re proud to present the first gameplay trailer for Killzone 3. What you are about to see is a trailer made completely out of in-game footage, taken from the game?s fourth mission, called ?Frozen Shores.?

Killzone 3 will take you to dangerous new corners of the Helghast home planet, and reveal that its environments are far more diverse than ISA Command had previously believed. In addition to the larger and more varied environments, Killzone 3 also introduces a brutal melee system and plenty of awesome new battle gear, including the Helghast jetpack and the WASP missile launcher demonstrated in the trailer.

Sadly I don't know how to embed videos from PS blog and not up on Youtube yet. Looks pretty impressive though and silky smooth! :)

Unless there is a MAJOR improvement to the controls* I will not even give this a second glance...

*By that I hope they bundle a Xbox 360 controller with it cos the DS is just not doing it :p

I hope they pump out a MP beta prior to launch.

Indeed. Moreover, I hope that they release a MP beta and then actually follow through on bug fixes and player suggestions. These days, it seems as though multiplayer betas are nothing more than glorified demos that lock you in to a pre-order (case in point: BFBC2).

Game looks good, though. Both of my consoles are somewhat starved for good multiplayer FPS games. Between KZ3 on the PS3 and Halo Reach on the 360, I'll have more than enough to keep me busy in time...

Got hold of a HUGE version of the Killzone 3 trailer (59.94fps - yes!). Definitely in-game and seems to have MLAA.

I'm just glad they actually have a color pallet this time.

Seriously, some color doesn't hurt! I'm so tired of games having to resort to being desaturated or just being gritty shades of brown/grey just to be considered 'serious'.

Look at the crapfest that began as a result of Diablo III actually having color in it. People went mad cuz it wasn't all grey and brown like the 8-bit predecessors to it. Honestly, I prefer there being more color. Color is more realistic, anyways. How often do you go into a forest and it's nothing but grey and brown? Chances are, it's bright green, vivid oranges and browns, with minimal grey (unless you walked through a burned down, dead forest anyways).

Also, more color makes it easier to tell things apart and adds variety. Plain grey stuff is boring and monotonous.

I think that whole lack of color was a "trend" for a few years there, that many were following. That dark, dirty gritty look. I think it's got stale as of late, and they are seeing that we want more color in our games.

Uncharted 2 is a prime example of a game where colors make the game.

The gameplay on stage was rather boring imo, but I can't wait to play it regardless. I just hope it's better than the 2nd and they've worked out all the issues.

The jet pack Helgans remind me of Screaming Mantis too.
