[E3 2010] Sony Press Conference

Okay, which makes sense since you purchased it.

You are not purchasing it through PSN+, you are being given it for free since you are a PSN+ subscriber, so I really do not see why people are crying about it running out if you are no longer a PSN+ subscriber. Don't like it, don't get it. Pretty simple.

My point being is it is still completely free to play online, you are not forced to pay to play. PSN+ is for people who may want to try other games, etc. That is it.

I don't agree with your logic.

The entire point of PSN+ is for exclusive content. Content that you could buy, but they will bundle for you. But, if you don't renew, you lose all that content. That's an absolute joke. If I pay for something, I expect to keep it. It's not as simple as "don't like it, don't get it." It's about spending money for something that you expect to keep -- content -- unlike a service. PSN+ isn't a service. It's content.

Mafia 2 has exclusive day 1 content exclusive to PS3 for free.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood now - exclusive PS3 single player missions and a multiplayer beta, only on PS3.

Assassins Creed multiplayer beta exclusive to PSN.

The entire Orange Box ran like dung.

Indeed. But we were just talking about Portal at them moment.

FF...meh.

Mafia 2, bring it!

Sony finally picked up the MS way of exclusive content. The race is on to drop money on publishers for exclusive content.

Yup. I disagreed with that from the beginning, though. Exclusive content is stupid. I don't buy a console for exclusive content, I buy it for the overall games. Microsoft opened up a can of worms with the CoD and GTA exclusive crap.

It will eventually (I hope) get to a point where the games are so radically different, they really aren't multiplatform.

@ guy complaining about Orange Box performance: that was ported by EA. This will be developed by Valve. The whole reason for this, IMO, is because developing games for the Mac has allowed them to easily create the Mac/PS3 version at the same time since they have a similar rendering method with OpenGL, as the 360/PC does with DirectX.

I am for exclusive GAMES, but not DLC. That just doesn't seem fair. But, it's business.

Sony has always had a winning formula with their presentation montages. Show games regardless if they are exclusive and sprinkle in your exclusives leading on some people to believe the PS3 will be the only one to have these games.

I am aware of that, and I knew EA botched the port. I was pointing out this would be better because it's native.

Then you do not do the PSN + and you just BUY it. What is so hard about that?

You do not get it because you are looking at it wrong, it is a SERVICE. It is a service to try out new games, to get exclusive demos first, and to get into Beta's as well. Tell me how is that not a service?

So do you not rent movies on Live because you do not get to keep it? To me it is the same exact thing except it is now subscription based. You are paying for a subscription to RENT games for the duration of your subscription. What is so wrong with that?

Can I still be a Netflix member and watch movies on Instant Queue if I no longer pay for their service? NO, I cannot. It is the SAME exact thing.

But that's right, I own a PS3, so if I do not like it, I don't have to get it. You do not even own a PS3, have been in this thread saying multiple times now "they need to give me a reason to purchase a PS3" so then do not purchase a PS3 either. Also pretty simple.
