Sparrowmonk
This is really cool, and not such a bad game, check it out. I know, I know, Zelda games are sacred. It's like trying to cover a Michael Jackson song -- you can give it your best shot, but you can't improve on something perfect, so why bother? Well, you do it for fun of course! Zelda II FPS is a delightful, painstakingly recreated version of the 1987 side-scrolling classic. No expense has been spared -- all of the original textures are there, and the sounds. It feels remarkably and eerily familiar.Of course, it's not without its issues. Combat is... hairy. You can't see enemies sneaking up behind you, and they have an unnerving tendency to move quickly when you're not looking. Getting around can be a bit of a pain too -- just stick to the yellow brick road though, and you should avoid the random fights. http://www.downloadsquad.com/2010/06/14/25-year-old-zelda-3d-fps-link/

You're right, the author of the original article screwed up his math, it came out in 1987.

Shadrack
Zelda II - The Adventures of Link was just a really weird game IMHO. It was also hard as hell. I made it to the last castle where you fight your mirror image, but could never get pass that one part. Yeah, there was room for improvement. For sure. Solid Knight
To be honest, it looks pretty bad and I'm not to fond of the FPS aspect of it.

Sebastian Anthony
Just so you know, I was well aware that the game is only 23 years old. I just wanted a punchier-sounding title. Next time I'll go with 'three-decade-spanning Zelda title'... :p -- Damn, if I post again I lose my AWESOME forum title!
