Michael Jackson game being developed by Ubisoft

Recommended Posts

Since this is going to be multi-console, I'll post it here. I don't dance, never have, so this game is useless to me. I think someone should instead do a new version of Moonwalker, that was a great game.

How does Ubisoft follow up on its multi-million unit selling Just Dance? By making an "interactive performance-based" game about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The E3 presentation featured a few dancers on stage moving in front of a Kinect camera. However, other than a short musical number and a logo, Ubisoft hasn't presented much else (not that it'll stop hardcore fans from pre-ordering the game now).

We first heard of a possible deal for a Michael Jackson game last year. The original concept promised "recent voice recordings by the singer." It's unclear if Ubisoft's game is the same project, but it will feature classics, like "Beat It" and "Billie Jean." According to a press release, fans will be able to not just dance, but sing along as well.

In spite of not being shown at the press conference in any playable form, Ubisoft's Michael Jackson game will be available for Kinect for Xbox 360, PlayStation Move for PS3, PSP, Wii and Nintendo DS.

Michael Jackson side-scrolling platformer where he collected babies and threw his hat at gangsters? Genius!

It's obvious you didn't like the game, I did, wish they'd remake it.

Jesus. He must be moonwalking in his grave to this announcement. It'll sell a metric **** tonne on the Wii though. Look at Just Dance. :/

It was a cheaply made platformer with no real storyline - insert a few licensed sprites with a licensed soundtrack. It was what it was - a VERY generic platformers. I played it a LOT on the Sega, and meh - neither enjoyed nor didn't enjoy it. The storyline was questionable (for what there was).

Maybe it will be just like"Atlus Prepares DS Surgery Game". Accept this time you have to help give Michael Jackson a sex change operation.

No trailer is out yet but this video is from E3 2010

Some crazy stuff shows up at E3. Ubisoft’s Michael Jackson: The Game will be a singing, dancing, being awesome music game based around the music of the King of Pop himself. In a weird and brief demonstration at the press conference, a group of people busted out into the Beat It routine, complete with knife fight. Beat It and Billie Jean have been confirmed. The game drops this holiday season on all major consoles.
