DirtyLarry Veteran Posted June 15, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 15, 2010 Nintendo > Sony > MS Let me start by saying I could care less about motion control anything. I own a Wii and barely use it except for games that hardly use the motion controls, so it just is not my cup of tea. So Sony and MS equally fail to me on that aspect. MS a little more as Kinetic's games were just not interesting at all minus that one fitness game, and that is only because it seemed to be pretty in depth. Sony at least has one or two games that could possibly appeal to the gamer in me, but they still fail too, as nothing made me think I have to get Move, quite the opposite actually. So from a standpoint of who announced NEW "traditional" games that I was most interested in, that is what determines by list above and why I say Nintendo won. I unfortunately missed Nintendo's conference live, but just going to Kotaku and catching up, a new Donkey Kong Country, Zelda, Goldeneye, and actually the 3DS means they had the best conference. Sony announced Twisted Metal, and I do believe they did a better job overall than MS, but nothing was great about their presentation either. And keeping "new games" in mind, MS pnly announced one new game I did not know of, and I still do not know anything about it really except it is Roman based and made by Crytek, could be cool, I do not know. And as far as MS announcing a new 360, I could care less as I am damn well hoping my current one never dies. I honestly do not get the phenomenon of why people think it is cool to announce a new version of a console if they already own said console, in fact I feel screwed royally whenever that happens as to me it just means they should have released that console to begin with. I guess that is just me though as people seem to love the fact their is yet another new 360 that has been released. I sincerely just do not get that though, because as i said I already own it. Overall though I can say with absolute certainty this is pretty much the worse E3 since I have really paid attention to E3. No doubt the least exciting from a new games standpoint. LightShadow
It can be regarded as a Wii copy, but the selling point for me is that it not only reaches out to the casual gamer, but the more hardcore gamer as well with first-person shooters and the like. This is something that Kinect doesn't do (unless I missed something); most of the games looks rather childish to me. Investing in Move costs less than buying a Wii anyway and it's more accurate, so it's a win-win in my opinion. I'm just going to have to try it myself before I buy anything though, because if the input lag is as noticeable as it was during the conference, I'll probably avoid buying it. For one it won't be better for shooters. The Wii has accurate pointing so the target aim is good. I think a pointer and infra-red is better tracking than a camera tracking a light-ball. And how is it cheaper. Move = PS3 (?300,)Move(?60), Other Move Adapter (?20) = ?380 Wii + Motionplus + Nunchuck = ?
KoL Veteran Posted June 15, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 15, 2010 Nintendo and Sony. MS was pretty much Nintendo a few years ago jumping and dancing. I felt embarrassed watching it.

Ayepecks
IMO, this is the year of the third-party games anyway. I'm looking forward to more games this year than any other, such as Portal 2 and Crysis 2. I'm really looking forward to all the previews.

Totally agree with that, I would also like to add the fact of 3D... 3D is a gimmick, It adds nothing to gameplay. Out of the 3 motion "Controllers" we have out there Sony's would have to be the best. Although Kinect looks good there is no controller and no matter how you put it it will fail in comparison to Move, Yes, Move is a lightbulb on a stick. But at least you have a stick to controller stuff. Overall even if sony's conference was the longest i enjoyed it the most, certainly the appearance of valve. Hedon
MS, but by a hair. Thanks to the updated 360. If it wasn't for the new 360, it would be a tie or edge to Sony.

Also, I meant cheaper for those who already own a PS3 and would like to experience motion controlled gaming without having to go buy a separate console. Yeah, not many. But Wii gives the most realistic shooting experience. Especially with COD.
svnO.o
I give Nintendo points for DKC, Goldeneye 007, Metroid: Other M, and 3DS. Microsoft gets points GoW2, Kinect, and the updated 360 SKU. Lastly I give PS3 credit for Twisted Metal & Killzone 3. Might have missed some stuff but those are what come to mind. Overall vote goes to "Ninty" (due to 3DS and classic DKC primarily) with Microsoft second (their game library is looking strong). Nothing seemed to overly "wow" or surprise me with Sony's event. Emn1ty
Honestly, Microsoft had exclusives, Sony had Steam and Nintendo had the 3DS. That's it really. They all had things the others didn't really try hard to come up with. Nintendo had the most minimal conference, Microsoft had tons of stuff (none of it surprising however) and Sony just had fluff mostly. It wasn't great for any of them. Microsoft = Sony = Nintendo. All equally unsatisfying.
BlackSteyrAug
Once Microsoft brought up Kinect, that was the entire press conference. Nintendo brought back a bunch of games I stopped playing in Elementary. Sony was the only one that actually kept my interest.
