@ the people complaining about pre-recorded demos: This isn't the first time it's happened, and it's surely not going to be the last. But the proof is when people actually get to try the technology, and try the games. And all the gaming press seem to think that both Kinect and Move work perfectly fine, and I honestly haven't read one article that's even brought up lag being a factor in their playtests. So I'm not really sure what the complaining is coming down to. That they recorded it so they wouldn't mess up on a big stage? Because clearly the technology for both Kinect and Move works as intended based on all the previews.

@ MadDoggyca: I'm a big PC gamer, but I do own a 360, and before that I'd owned every Nintendo console until that point. A lot of the games you listed are going to consoles, and consoles are the lead development platforms. Personally, I wish they'd either lead on a PC or develop them all simultaneously (like Valve is doing now), but for some it's simply not feasible. But, clearly this year third party games are leading the way, as I originally stated. I think that's a good thing and a bad thing. We all get great games, but the consoles (except for the Wii) aren't doing much to differentiate themselves from each other in terms of games.

I owned the older systeam too I even own a ps3 (thats used for streaming video) but with todays age emulating older Consoles and even the wii is played better on a pc then the acutaly console. ya I for use a Xbox pad for my pc. I even got my ps3 Pad working on my pc. and yes I use a Wii Mote on my pc to, via bluetooth. I can even emulate the DS touch screen via useing my Pen and touch board or touch screen monitor it self. the major diffrence in emulating vs real is. I can upscale graphics. Higher Res. Mount as ISO = zero load time. and even download the roms and image for free via torrent. and if I feel like it I can configuer ether pad or mouse/keyboard depedning on the game I wish to play.

It's not clean at all. I'd show you my computer, but it would probably make your spelling even worse.

I think the main difference you are talking about is piracy. You like the fact that you can steal video games rather than pay for them. You said you like your "free DLC" and now you're talking about mounting games. I'm no saint, but I own easily over 60 current gen games for all three platforms, including PC games. I work hard and I respect hard work.

You complain about console gaming, and yet your hints of piracy and screwing the developers out of their money is the exact reason the PC doesn't have as much support as it had four years ago.

Im not sure about that

mouse/keyboard kill the contorler. why woudl any one want to play a FPS with 2 thumb sticks..?(wait u didn't know they put halo on the pC?) this is only part of my collection.. my collection if I decieded to go thur storage holds every DOS game that went Box set from 1980-2000 as well as all major titile release from 2000 to now. My 5/qurts and 3/inch floppies are still collecting dust. NO I do not ebay them ether.

my collection in hopes will be on of largest libery of software and when I decied to put them on showcases in about 60 years from nowthe world can look back and remmember what started it all.

sorta why I spend alot on games/Software/and OS. yes I do have box sets of DOS 1 and windows 1.0 and up what u see in my pics is what I sorta currently use on my new pc as well as my old dos pc. yes Ill buy a title and never use it just to say I have it..There deffently not enough time in the world to play ever game so I only pull a few out at a time.. roughly ya know a couple hundred to pick from.lol

witch is why I don't bealive in this soo called SteamWorks Movment ether. I only buy a title if it come sin a box. .this hole digital download is rather annoying a long with linking titile to a email address.. if u ask me this DRM movemnt is helping take down the gaming indistree

and yes I know like console software will go out dated but seeing that pcs are able to use VMware its not like software I hold will not be useible. unlike console software were its tined to the hardware sort of speek. system dies your collection gose with it.. and uselly in 10-20 years unable to fined a replacement console so your software gose useless too :(

so once agian why in my view should I have to pay for a patch or update when they use to be free for pc games?

and to be honest with the Pricey thing u talked about earlyer I did not pay for my Map pack for COD MW2 nore for F.E.A.R 2 Reborn. I consider thoses to be a patch/update and frankly not worth the money. itsno tworth paying a Develpiore to keep some one around playing there games.. its more like just a tie over to the next majory release. witch is why I dont bealive in playing for DLC. if the develipores want to keep some one around they should just be giving out Patches for free to tie them over.

BTW Im Dyslexic and english is not my strong lang. . hmm MSN/1337/IM/internet speek is my native lang eng is my second lang

As others have expressed, kind of disappointed in all of the press confereneces. Too much focus on motion control gaming and big franchises and completely overshadowing 3rd party traditional games.

Nintendo:

-New Zelda(only game that got my intereste): would have been great except their choice for cell-shaded graphics looks absolutely horrible and reminds of that atrocity wind waker.

-New Donkey Kong- Been done before

-Goldeneye remake- Not only do you axe pierce brosnan's face and voice, but the game looks barely better than the 64 version.

-Kirby- Been there done that.

-Epic Mickey: Really???

3DS: Nice that you made a 3d system that does not require glasses, but 3D gameplay adds no value to a game for me. Just like 3D movies add no value, just a distraction.

-3DS games: Great re-hash of classic titles announced, but nothing really new that seems to stand out. Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64, etc. All great titles, but nothinig new about them.

Basically where are the orginal titles. Stop with the remakes and put a new franchise into play. Get some core gamers to come back to your system. Along with all of your already popular Intellectual properties, bring something fresh and more serious to the table.

Sony:

-Move: Been there done that, got the wii t-shirt for it. Motion control is great for those who want it, but so far has not found a way to appeal to more competitive gamers such as myself. Don't overshadow your whole conference with this (same goes for Nintendo and Microsoft), show us the games to.

-Games: Sony probably did the best of the 3 on showcasing the games coming out, but still too much focus on motion controls.

-Twisted metal: nice

-SOCOM 4: alright I guess

-Valve: SteamCloud and portal 2 good. I hope the auto-updates prove to be worth the wait, because waiting on the big dogs to QC content is BS. They hamper the gaming experience with political red tape that keep desparetly needed patches and updates from reaching the consumer ASAP(MS is the worst on this aspect).

-PSN Premium: Has yet to fully flesh itself out to see if it will be worth the pricetag. All the promises for exclusive content are great, but what quality is that content going to be. Still service has potential we will see.

Keep the upgrades to the PSN network coming. PSN needs it. Its fleshing itself more and more every year and has the potential to be better than XBL, only time will tell. Do not lose focus on this whole motion control thing. Keep it coming but do not forget about your more traditional gamer, you will be quick to alienate them if you continue to put most of your focus on stuff like this.

Microsoft:

-Gears3: Looks great love the beast mode

-Halo Reach: Single player looks promising, Multiplayer would be great if you give it a full map editor and user based server host lobby system like old xbl games (this goes for any online game). I'm also glad bungie is moving on to something else after this. This franchise has been showing its age for a while now.

-Fable 3: Fable 1 great but short, Fable 2 better in length but more RPG elments stripped and combat system over simplified, fable 3 focusing less on combat and more on politics plus adding kinect controls = time to find another franchise.

-Kinect: Motion control this, motion control that. Everyone is on board. This completely overshadowed the rest of their conference and made me sick to my stomach. And still no price point. Get your **** together already.

-New xbox: Somewhat like the redesign and would be prone getting one had I not just replaced a RROD one about a month ago. It took you how long to fix RROD problems? Better yet how long did it take for you to publicly acknowledge it was a problem?

-Rareware: Who the **** is in charge of this studio since the MS buyout? Your current project is Kinect sports??? Can you please get back to making the great games you were once able to produce under Nintendo. How about a new franchise? Seriously Grabbed by the goulies, PDZ, Kameo, BK: Nuts and Bolts, and some arcade games? This developer is probably one of the biggest microsoft dissapointments of all times.

ESPN: Nice but missing NFL and NBA for starters.

Kinect was your main focus of the event and it completely overshadowed the games which sucks. A little more 50-50 would have been better. Something else that has me worried is the XBL service in general. It has been getting worse over the years. Feedback system has never worked and nobody ever seems to get banned in a timely manner. Get some more moderators, you know ones that actively play games and can instantly ban people for ToS violations. Its a ****ing shame that people have to spend most of their time finding a game that doesnt have a modder or someone who harrasses everyone in the lobby. All these nice services you have added over the years have made the xbox dashboard sluggish and unresponsive more often than it should be and supposed update fixes havent really helped. How about the re-optimization of the dashboard. Less graphics intensive, more simplified. And for **** sake let me disable the Spotlight menu and default to My xbox to go straight to gaming. Its pathetic that we can hide the welcome menu but not that one. How about giving us access to customize the dashboard how we see fit?

Overall, not a very exciting E3 to me. Did not get alot of coverage on games that I would like to see get more recognition. And gaming itself seems to be on a downward trend as developers/publishers seek to go the cheaper route and do the popcorn games that they can hash out every year or two. Here is what gets my interest:

Rage

Brink

Fallout: New Vegas

Castlevania Lord of Shadow

Crackdown 2

Gears 3: for beast mode

Halo Reach: Single player

Vanguard: SEGA game the could be a sleeper hit

Borderlands sequel: if it ever happens

Darksiders sequel: if it ever happens

Crysis 2: if they can make fluid gameplay, controls, and graphics on the console

Codename: Kingdom: we will see how it turns out. trailer didnt give much detail.

Deus Ex 3: Loved the first 2.

Asking if they're "glorified Flash game" is misleading, as almost anything today could be considered a "glorified Flash game." Portal was done in flash -- does that make it any less of a game? There are first-person shooters in Flash that offer arguably as much depth as many of the FPS games released today. Heck, N+, one of the best XBLA games, started out as a Flash game. So to say they're just glorified Flash games is being a bit deceptive, as many of today's games with or without motion control could be considered glorified Flash games.

Now, if Kinectimals is solely about petting a tiger and is limited to what we were shown, I have no doubt in my mind it will be an absolute bomb. If something is that simplistic and offers that little value to the consumer -- any consumer, casual or hardcore -- people won't buy it, I guarantee it. I have more faith in the marketplace than that. You have to remember, though, that Microsoft and Sony aren't going to show the entire game off. It's not realistic in the amount of time given. Heck, to many people who prefer more casual games, they probably looked at the Halo: Reach teaser and thought, "that's it? You just shoot people?" So they're just going to show some of the things they can do with a game, which can be impressive. And it was pretty impressive to see the tiger's responses to the girl.

Kinectimals is about the only game I'm worried about from a gameplay standpoint (in terms of how much is offered) from the motion control games shown. All the rest were essentially party games -- like Guitar Hero (and similar games), Mario Party, etc.

Kinectimals is for little kids. How complicated you want it to get for kiddys?

Sony ? WTF any one that thinks sony waz best of E3 a <snipped> (sry to all that think this) why? the year they annouce a Preimume Subscription fee at $49.99

well sony just lost me as a customer.

Xbox.? Sry once again a joke. All console gamer know how to do, is use there thumbs.... wanabee gamers call xbox gaming hardcore... ya nooo...

Nintendo.. ok the 3DS waz a swiff of fresh air. Cross Figures and hope there will be a M3+ card for it... atlest it make it worth owning.

The best show of E3 waz not any confrence but the side shows from develipores...

Call of duty Black Ops (PC)

Portal 2 (PC)

F.3.A.R (PC)

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (PC)

Fable 3 (PC)

Need For Speed World Online (PC)

StarCraft 2 (PC)

Test Drive Unlimited 2 (PC)

GuildWars 2 (PC)

Dead Space 2 (PC)

Zeldia (WII)

And you know what pc Gamers never had once had to pay for a Patch. Untill Xbox users started to cry aobut .. well we have to pay for the maps for COD and pc user get them free! and before ya know it steam DLC is now being to be Pay for DLC witch is the bigest garbage I ever heard of. Lucky for pc gamers if u nwo were to look your still able to get your Patchs/ DLC free...

all the good showing at E3 this year were titles, titles built for PC gaming... thats were the hardcore gamers live.. <snipped>

I acutally been on the site for a long time jsut never cared to post but this hole thing with console gaming getting way out of touch... I had to post my option as I been gaming longer then most people I know...

yes I remmember the days of the atari, colecovision, Dos 1.0 windows 1.0

its insulting to see console gaming trying to mimick pc gaming...

any one that plays fps better be thanking the oringal Wolfinstine 3D withch started it all

Chuck Yeager's Air Combat / falcon 1.0 for the flight sim moment.

Test Drive 1,2,3 (old Dos verison) for a Driving exprince moment.

Syd Mead's Maelstrom For the RTS Movement.

Eye of the Beholder / Wizeriedy for the RPG movement.

any one that to young wont understand the roots of gaming.

and I cry when I hear some one buying a Xbox or a PS3.. its like another old time gamer has died...

Nintendo is a bit Diffrent on the subject. Mario started the platform moment. Tetris/DR Mario the Puzzle movment, The orginal Zelda 1 and 2 for the Adventure movement. The orignial Final fantasy 1, 2,3, for the Top down RPG movement.

Sega would also bealong here expect it died when the Dreamcast flamed out. I cryed that day too..

so nintendo really truly has a spot in gaming history. Sony and Microsoft sohudl have never joined the Console movent so late in game.

FYI

yes I do still own a Old dos box setup.

80386, 4mb Ram, 2MB VGA, 80MB HDD, dos 5.0 win 3.1

Got some links?

Sony > Microsoft > Nintendo

Sony will suck as long as they keep bragging like crazy every 30 seconds even though they are a loser this generation.

Just because everyone is doing it doesnt make it great in everyones eyes. Im glad the industry is trying come up with new things and hope they can grab a larger audience, but at the same time I hope the do not accidentally alienate a core audience in doing so.

3D Nintendogs, Dead or Alive, Splinter Cell, The Sims, Super Street Fighter IV, Metal Gear Solid, Golden sun, an updated Mario Kart, new Star Fox title and Paper Mario, all been done before at one time or another. Should I continue? And anything that isnt on the list probably wont sell near as well as this already name-brand titles. Nintendo has a severe lack of new Intellectual Properties and there is no denying that. Bottom line, they are still relying on an outdated formula for software. Sure it will sell well, but there is not anything on their list that will make me re-invest in Nintendo right now. Time will tell if they they can roll out other stuff that can capture a larger audience or get some of their older audience back.

Kotakuputs Nintendo on top this year:

Ultimately Nintendo came out ahead with several core-appeal titles and a very compelling, if not surprising, unveiling of the 3DS, and a who's who of publishers and titles aboard for its launch. The proof of the 3DS' impact could be seen in the morning mob scenes and multiple hours-long waits falling on Nintendo's booth in West Hall, just to get a look at the new all-in-one 3D handheld.
