Hedon
Continuing with special editions and exclusive deals, Sony had another one announced at their E3 press conference. Dead Space 2, the sequel to Visceral?s 2008 award-winning Dead Space, is getting a Limited Edition exclusively for the PlayStation 3 when it releases early next January. The Limited Edition will include the once Wii-exclusive Dead Space Extraction, the prequel to the entireDead Space story. It will come in glorious HD for the first time ever and will be Move-enabled. The single-player campaign will be there, enhanced with new trophies and a new multiplayer co-op mode. Further,Dead Space Extraction will be available as a standalone game on PlayStation Network.?We?re thrilled to couple two terrifying experiences in one box. With the Limited Edition, PlayStation 3 fans will receive real insight into the cause of the necromorph infestation and the destruction that followed. This is the genesis of the dark and twisted world Isaac inhabits,? said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 2. ?The addition of support for PlayStation Move allows us to bring a truly unique experience that was previously unavailable to players and we can?t wait to see what they think.? My link Adding the Wii version of Extraction with Move support. Nice little bonus there.
+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted June 15, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted June 15, 2010 Dead Space blew me away, my number one game that year. When I heard about Extraction I was like I need to play it, but never got the chance because it was the Wii. Now with Dead Space 2 and Extraction coming to the PS3, I am sold! Can't wait! soniqstylz
I heard Extraction kinda sucked. Wasn't it on rails? edit: nvm. 82% on metacritic, solid. Ah well, knew they would end up getting a bunch of 3rd-party Wii ports, hopefully it's higher-res graphics, not 1:1 port, and it's a decent game for Move. edit2: derp, just saw it's in "glorious HD". Much better. Visceral / EA has been showing a lot of PS3 love (Dante's Inferno bonus content, etc.).
Hedon
But it's free (in a sense), so I won't complain :)
