Apple iTunes 9.2 for Mac OS X and Windows

Recommended Posts

This release is so damn fast! They finally included the option of using Album Artists instead of Artists in the Grid view as well. :)

Edit: On Windows that is.

Screen shot? Can't find it on the Mac OS X version. :/

I actually meant on the List View, however, the Grid View used Album Artist in previous versions.

Grid view (Sorting didn't change from previous versions. You can see Various Artists instead of each artist in the "Hope for Haiti 2010" album)

I'm really digging this release. Finally, I can switch from Winamp to iTunes.

Don't know if my laptop is just having a fit or not, but my iPod Touch 32GB is taking forever to sync. it's transferring songs soooo slowly.

Don't know if it's my laptop, iTunes 9.2 or iOS4 :s

Does anyone who own a 2nd gen ipod touch, notice that airplane mode was added on the touch, after installing 4.0? Is there a reason for this? Also, under wallpapers, there are no actual wallpapers, just a blank page.

I guess bluetooth, Wi-Fi and possible the radio receiver can cause issues with an airplane's systems? Now you have a quick switch to turn everything on and off.

Yes, that's a known bug which I experience as well. Hopefully the WWDC GM candidate build isn't the final one.

But doesn't GM mean that it's the final version, which will be released to the public?

Yes, except Apple's official terminology at WWDC was that it was a "GM candidate," or a release candidate... It's likely to be the final release, but still needs more testing.

The iOS 3 GM candidate from WWDC 2009 did indeed turn out to be the final release, but it's possible iOS 4 might see another release.

yeah I am liking it so far, and honestly iTunes seems a lot more snappy to me with this release. It also doesnt lag out when doing something like before.

They said it was a GM candidate.

So if the final version being released on Monday was to be different from the GM candidate, is there a way to tell the difference?

It would have a different (higher) build number. The wallpaper bug being fixed would be a clear indication as well. You can check the build number under Settings > General > About.

The current version is 4.0 (8A293) > Read: 4.0 build 8A293.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up. So if I have build 8A293 right now, would I have to do a restore in order to install the final build, or would clicking the update button be able to tell that I don't have the most recent build, & update it for me?

Anyone running 4 with reply notifications on neowin notice it isn't "threading" the reply notification emails? It still shows them as completely seperate emails

You can upgrade from a lower build of 4.0 to a higher build. No need to restore.

Hmm, okay, seems on Windows 7, iTunes redid all of my album art and the reds are much redder. :pinch: I can't seem to revert it back to the original album art. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Whoa Cover Flow is silk now! There is literally no album art loading, its instant on MBP 10.6.4

Yep, I've had it turned off for the last few updates as it used to be hit and miss when flowing through but now it's smooth like butter all the way (Y)

  • 2 weeks later...

Ugh. Finally got my ipod touch running through Winamp, but I have a bunch of music I like on my itunes account.

I know this is going to end in tears.

Not to mention the Lenovo + iTunes problems
