TDQuiksilver
that audi looks SICK for a standard car... Agreed. (Y)
Emn1ty
Agreed. (Y) From my perspective, the rims look like plastic as does most of the metal on the car.

You do realize the wheels are supposed to look anodized and not chrome... right? The rivets in the wheel clearly "look metal" whereas the wheels are anodized (hence the "flat" look). They look like plastic, and so do the rivets. My point is, the cars don't look that great. Sure, they don't look bad but they aren't anywhere close to what their premium models boast. The best question was asked already, "What have they been doing all this time?" If none of these models are updated in poly/bump/texture/spec then why is it taking so damn long to get this game out? You clearly do not do any research on this game at all... Watch the video here before any smart replies thanks - http://www.neowin.ne...racing-38-mins/ I stopped caring when they said it handled the same as GT5: Prologue, of which I hated the handling in. Besides, these guys know near nothing about how games are made (seeing as they mentioned something that is texture based as being modeled). Third these guys have no idea how the older cars will perform. Many of the answers in the interview were vague and didn't clarify anything. The only thing this really reveals is there are differences between the two in damage and quality. It actually says nothing to do with what I posted. No they haven't, the game will handle like the Academy trial they released and the handling was superb, so much improved.

Near the start of that video they say different (at 5:12). Anyways, prologue may have changed since its demo but that isn't the point of my post. My point is that the video says nothing about how or even IF they have improved the older versions of the cars. It merely states there are differences. Wouldn't that discussion be a lot more valid when the game is actually released and we can see what's up and down :) I have a lot of confidence in PD and they churn out some quality games, the least they deserve is the benefit of the doubt. I won't give them any benefit until they actually release the game and I can see it. I'm not saying that it is impossible the game will be good, nor am I saying this will make the game bad. The fact of the matter is, they've been spending tons and tons of time on who knows what and, personally, I would rather have 400 up-to-date cars than 800 ported, lesser and last-gen cars. It is a car game, and I want the cars in it to be superb. It may seem like I'm making a big deal of this, but keep in mind that my arguments are in the context of this particular part of the game. I agree, Academy was improved over GT5p. However, it still needed work, and wall riding was still present in Academy. :(

What about the part where it says the standard cars will at least be GT5P quality? I cannot wait for this game to be released, or more so, until Gamescom. Emn1ty
What about the part where it says the standard cars will at least be GT5P quality? I don't think they know what they're talking about, since many of the cars aren't from GT5P and the interviews said nothing about that. They already showed ignorance in how games work and honestly I don't think we should expect the cars to look too good. Why? Cause it will be a disappointment if we do. I won't believe anything until I play the game and see the cars for myself. A few weeks of playing the game should render it obvious as to which cars are premium and which aren't (more detailed specular/diffuse maps, better bump maps and physics, etc.). Well they're the one's who had a behind doors session with Kaz himself and spoke to Sony, not you or me. Many of the cars in GT5P would hardly be classed as "premium" cars. There is a cheap as chips Honda Civic in the game FFS Ford Focus/Golf as well. These are standard every day cars, not sports cars or anything expensive. And they got near nothing out of those sessions, as they stated several times in the damn video. Did you even watch it? Many of the cars in GT5P would hardly be classed as "premium" cars. There is a cheap as chips Honda Civic in the game FFS Ford Focus/Golf as well. These are standard every day cars, not sports cars or anything expensive. Ugh... you are lost in this aren't you? What does the quality of car have to do with it being a premium car in the game? A Honda Civic may be a cheap car, but it would still look awesome to those that love it as a premium model. Edit: Just checked standard car crashes and they have no modelling on the underside and minimal aesthetic damage.
zeta_immersion
I love my civic ... shait acceleration, but otherwise good breaking and handling ... but at the same time don;t get me started on the road noise .... you could actually go death if you concentrate on the noise
