Fun Cheats Rule!

Recommended Posts

We need to badger the developers to stick some fun cheats into more games :D Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 was brilliant for this! For example, it had...

? Paintball Mode (Personal Favourite!)

? Big Head Mode

? Turbo Mode

? Tiny Mode

? Fast Animation Mode

? Slow Animation Mode

Any others you guys can think of?

Motorhead had a lot of great "modes" that could only be activated with cheat codes:

  • Supercars mode (top-down view like the old Amiga game)
  • L.A type suspension (you know you want it :) )
  • Buzz Aldrin mode (low gravity)
  • Ignition mode (top-down view like the game Ignition)
  • Avenger mode (changed your car sprite on the map to Avenger sprite from ZX game)
  • Water mode (blue-tinted wobbly graphics, fish instead of sea gulls etc)
  • Hell mode (red-hot wavy graphics and different sky texture)
  • TRON mode (never tried this, so can't describe it)

And of course we mustn't forget Ignition's infamous "Acid mode"... made the game totally unplayable.

GOLDENEYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have compiled a word document that's like 17 pages long of cheats for this game.

And that's not even counting my document of gameshark codes for it.

They weren't so much cheats, but I loved some of the pickups on the first Carmageddon during LAN games - pinball mode, low gravity, gravity from jupiter, solid granite car... was so much fun :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone remember all the hilarious "cheats" in Rebel Assault II? Granted they weren't cheats as such but more like easter eggs. But it was fun! Wile E. Stormtrooper... A Trooper Chorus Line... Mystery Science Theater 3000 mode... and all the cool bloopers, and the special hidden spoof of the 20th Century Fox logo... man I gotta dig out that old game (hardly worth calling a game - it's more of a movie, but still) and give it a whirl one of these days.
