How can I become a web design teacher in a community college?


Question

want to teach web design in a local community college. So far I have my associated degree. I am also in the web design business and have been for years. What do I need to do to become a web design teacher?

How about you contact your local community college instead? That's the first and only place you should be contacting to figure this out.

Sometimes jumping to the internet isn't the best idea when you should go to the source.

Even with your experience, an associates degree is not going to meet the minimum qualifications needed for a teaching certificate, depending on the state you reside in...

aren't institutions hiring more industry people now who have the experience and actually know how to do things instead of being stingy with pieces of paper?

Just because you know how to "do things" doesn't mean that you can teach well. There is a negative correlation between level of specialization and expertise, and the ability to convey that knowledge to people who are not experts in the field. People in industry (and even academic researchers) are prone to distilling complex ideas and protocols into simple labels, and consistently fail to explain things to a sufficient degree.

Anyway, is there even a web design course being offered at the place you want to work?
