Ironman273
Amazon sales put interest in Kinect over Move While it is unclear if either Microsoft's Kinect or Sony's Move will actually move at retail, it's always fun to base prediction off of Amazon's constant tracking of how well it is selling things. Despite the fact that Amazon actually has a pretty small fraction of gaming sales in the U.S. the way their sales go is often the way retail goes as well, and that way seems to be toward Microsoft. At the moment Kinect holds the number one spot on their top 100 selling videogames list with the Xbox 360 "Slim" right behind it. The first mention of PlayStation Move is the Navigation Controller at 44 and the Move Starter Bundle close behind at 46. Despite the 360 having an ever dwindling lead in number of units sold over the PS3 that big a gap has to be a little frustrating for Sony. This puts the Move, a brand new and recently hyped item, below almost all of Nintendo's controllers for the Wii, which I don't have to tell you have been on the market forever. Again, Amazon isn't a foregone conclusion when it comes to sales and how the market will move things, but I would have expected the Move to be a bit higher up on the list. Growled Member Posted June 22, 2010 Member Share Posted June 22, 2010 Does the Move have the same problem with lag that the Kinect does?
bolix
Does the Move have the same problem with lag that the Kinect does? From what I've seen and read it has lag, but less than Kinect
Tikimotel
I can not stand, lets not forget jumping , in front of my TV....so no kinect for me (big turn off) (wooden floor and bedroom below my room, so no jumping at 02:00 in the morning....) I'm more exited about PlayStation Move (and Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for Wii) than I am for the Xbox360 option. Kinect for xboxmenu's ... hmm, I say bring back the 720p blades (old firmware) it's quicker more ergonomic and logical than waving your hand and hoping it will work in your livingroom with "background" noise (not a clean single-color studio, it has posters and photographs on the walls). Ayepecks
Does the Move have the same problem with lag that the Kinect does? Technically speaking, the Move has far, far less lag than Kinect. I haven't seen a (hands-on... well, off with Kinect, whatever) preview yet that was concerned about lag from either device, though.
Hedon
Supposedly, Move chimes in at 22ms of lag. Wireless controllers are 32 I believe. So I guess it's better than a wireless controller. E3 sure showed the opposite, but maybe it was prerecorded. As to why the Kinect beats Move out in interest, it's probably because it seems like it's something new. Shadrack
I haven't kept up with console trends in awhile, but doesn't XBox 360 lead PS3 sells by quite a bit still? If so, that may make the difference up....? Low pre-orders might also be related to the fact that the Move looks like a friggen dildo. Wonder if Sony considered that at all. Sony is within 10 million of the X360 sales. Around 40+ million for the X360 and reported that the PS3 is around 35/36+ million. It's just pre-orders. I want to see how many people actually use each of the devices from a day to day basis before it goes the way of the wii...sitting in a corner catching dust. Hedon
There was a recent game out there that had shown more interest on the 360 because of this same thing at Amazon. Everyone believed FFXIII on the 360 was going to blow the PS3's version out of the water in sales. Opposite happened. You just never know.

Anything can happen, and probably will.

Everyone believed FFXIII on the 360 was going to blow the PS3's version out of the water in sales. Opposite happened. You just never know. Who thought that? I always thought and saw other people say the same, that FF13 would sell more on the PS3 just because FF is still tied to Sony's systems so close mindshare wise. It's the first FF on the 360, and it's not even that good of a FF at that, so it's not really surprising that it sold more on the PS3. That said though, the higher you are in the list the more people see/notice your items on Amazon, it's good free marketing in the end.
WastedJoker
Got no interest in these alternative input methods. I don't have groups of friends 'round for gaming and my girlfriend would probably replace me with the dildo-esque Move
+Neowinian Subscriber² Posted June 23, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted June 23, 2010 I watched a clip on Kinect yesterday and the game looked awesome, there was a little lag but that is expected from such newly developed software [Maybe later release or updates will make it better]. I cannot see 'Move' competing well with Kinect as it just really the same principal as the wii but with better graphics.
