Huge Steam Sale going on RIGHT now.

Be weary of buying the game off steam if you have an x64 version of windows, steam in their infinite wisdom decided not to include the x64 portion of the game, which really makes a difference. I had to go out an buy it again retail after getting it on steam :(

If you're not interested in running an x64 version or don't have an x64 version of windows then you're fine.

The problem with the 1st Crysis is they don't even include the 64bit folder in the download, so you have to download it (only around 20mb) then place it the folder, as for Crysis Warhead it is included but you have to rename the folder bin64 to bin32 to get Crysis to run in 64bit. :hmmm:

Honestly, there aren't many PC games that I'm willing to buy anymore because I'm weary of the quality in comparison to the console versions... Valve games are the exception. We'll see on Crytek, since Crysis 2 is their first multiplatform release. That kind of makes it hard to get excited for a lot of these sales, when the PC versions were afterthoughts (see: Grand Theft Auto IV, with its horrid optimization).

Most multiplatforms look the best on PC though, I believe.

If you don't have a good enough computer to max out the settings, then maybe not, but if you've got everything on max, it'll look better.

Generally speaking, most multiplatform games look the best, yes. But if they run like crap due to being poorly optimized, have flawed interfaces (not working fully with all mouse buttons, for instance, like many games nowadays), and have poor netcode (or poor multiplayer implementation, period), then I have a hard time finding a reason to buy them.

I want a discount on Assassin's Creed II but I have a feeling that none of the Ubisoft games are going to recive an additional discount.

I thought AC2 was in one of the first sets of daily deals?

Indeed, I'm interested in getting it as well. The only other game I want to get is RE5, but for the life of me the best discount it has ever had is 10%.

Scirwode

Bought Red Faction because I couldn't resist at that price, and seen it played on the PS3, looked pretty good.

Wow do Microsoft know how to ruin a first run game experience... Games for Windows - FAIL. I bought it through steam, why do I need to setup up MS's poor copy of it to even save a game. Sign in with my Live account, update, crash, try again, update installs, another update installs, sign in again and I need a gamertag etc etc pointless crap.

Just wow...

And the sales get worse as the days progress...

Actually, 40% off the Dragon Age games isn't bad. I might pick up the expansion for $23.99 ($39.99 reg). :p

The thing I find annoying is that Dragon Age just went on sale during EA week. I want to see games that haven't gone on sale yet. :(

Dragon Age has never really been on "sale" at steam, not today and not any of the previous weekend/weekday deals. Amazon.co.uk always has that game for a lot cheaper, and it's not even on "sale" at amazon

Yeah, but 40% isn't much during this sale. I would jump on 75% or higher.
