Scirwode
^ I dunno.. maybe some people who haven't played GTA: SA and want to play it? It's the PC version and MODS FTW. Forgot about the mods, but still won't make me change my mind (despite enjoying the game immensely, completed the game in 4 days :p ). chaos mage
Wow, Red Faction Guerrilla runs terribly on the PC! I can play Crysis on full high settings, but Red Fact on low settings lags a lot. The slowdowns make it unplayable. Apparently running the game in windowed mode, or running in DX9 instead of 10 improves it... that doesn't make any sense haha. But this really put me off of PC gaming. PS3 ran this game's demo like butter. The PC ver runs great too. Just don't bother with the Ambient Occlusion setting, it destroys your FPS. Still, lag on low settings shouldn't be happening unless you're running a broken DX10 card like the 8600GTS.
LOC Veteran Posted July 2, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 2, 2010 Just bought a boat load of games today and yesterday. Global Agenda was first up since they are now going Guild Wars style, I had to get it while it was on sale. I also got both of the Penny Arcade Adventure games even though it's a dead series (damn them!), Booster Trooper, Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, Threadspace Hyperbole (though this crashes on me constantly), Painkiller Black edition (the original game and expansion ie: the best games in the series) and Mass Effect 2. I'm forgetting one or two others I think, but meh it's almost 2 am and I've been up for near 3 days now. Sorry! Edit! Oh yeah, community tab shows you! Also got Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway and Puzzle Kingdom (by the guys who did Puzzle Quest). That's it for now, unless later today or this weekend they have insano sales or repeat the sales from earlier this week (which they will more than likely do). I got it to run smoothly by turning off shadows. (yeah, lol). I'll check if I had that setting on though. Thanks.

MR_Candyman
Care to list all that you've purchased? I would if I was home. If you care to look through this topic I list pretty much everything I bought (I bought everything I was debating on except for the THQ pack which I still might pick up) edit: sorry, I just realised I could log in on the website and see what I bought. Either my count was wrong before or not all games are showing in the packs. My count just looking at the games and packs is 41: Winterbottom, X3: Gold, Thief: Deadly Shadows, Osmos, Grand Theft Auto IV, Left 4 Dead 2, Beat Hazard, Beat Hazard iTunes DLC, Audiosurf, Call of Duty Pack, 2K Complete Pack

LOC Veteran Posted July 2, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 2, 2010 Aha yeah! I was playing that and my eyes kind of exploded. Just wait until you unlock the highest difficulty (and the dev even added an INSANE one lol). It'll make your head explode. But it's sooo pretty! It's fun as hell too. Seriously worth the 2.70 or whatever it was The game is amazingly fun, worth every penny no matter what price it is frankly. Once the dev adds online coop, it'll be the best game EVER. :D Bought Left 4 Dead, FlatOut Ultimate Carnage for 8.80$ yesterday :) Ultimate Carnage is totally worth it at that price, really underrated gem of a racing game. So you guys who bought Beat Hazard, add me to your friends list and we can compete/compare our songs/stuff in the game :) http://steamcommunity.com/id/loc/home

Probably, yes it was the update you heard about. But remember, it's one kid (he's 16 or 17 now I think) working on the game by himself. But yeah, online coop would be sweeeeeeet. MR_Candyman
a 16 or 17 year old made this? I'm impressed. I hope he starts his own company. I'm kind of glad I gifted a couple copies to friends to support his development a little bit

His father helped him by incorporating it etc and setting things up for him. But yes, it's a one man operation, and that man is a teenager. It's an XNA based game and it's one of the best games I've had the pleasure of playing in YEARS. That's how good it is and how amazing his idea was for it whenever it came to him.... :D
MR_Candyman
ya, I found the cold beam games website, but it won't load for me. I'm having probably 90% of the pages on the net not load tonight. I am working security at a college and they are moving half the network stuff over the next couple of days and somehow it's only partially messing up the internet. It's very odd. Thankfully Neowin works (though sometimes very slowly)
deletedxyz
Holy crap, I wonder how much you guys spend on Steam? It is like you all have a Steam addiction... At least most of the Neowin members practice moderation and only buy what they want to play. I've read people (on Reddit and other sites) who simply buy it and have a huge library of 60+ games they have yet to play. It's quite sad to see that happen and makes you question their intelligence. Fun note: I was playing Left 4 Dead 2 and came across several players who have played the game for more than 700 hours. 700!!!! How is that even possible?! Even more crazy was that they played the previous game for 600+ hours. I have yet to play a single game for more than 160 hours.
LingeringSoul
Holy crap, I wonder how much you guys spend on Steam? It is like you all have a Steam addiction... I must confess that I've purchased my fair share of games on Steam sales and then never actually got around to playing them. Civ 4 Colonization, Resident Evil 5, Trine, and Empire Total War are all in my list of purchased games, but I haven't even installed all of them yet. Those Steam sales are just so tempting because you see a game that you're moderately interested in, and you don't know if it will ever be available for that price again. Either that or the sale price is so small compared to what we're used to paying (especially for those of us who are also console gamers) that they almost turn into impulse buys. Fun note: I was playing Left 4 Dead 2 and came across several players who have played the game for more than 700 hours. 700!!!! How is that even possible?! Even more crazy was that they played the previous game for 600+ hours. I have yet to play a single game for more than 160 hours. That's a pretty crazy amount of hours, especially for a game like Left 4 Dead. I love L4D, but it never seemed like the kind of game that had that much longevity. I'm pretty sure I've put 200+ hours into Counter-Strike: Source, but competitive games are a different matter entirely.
