chaos mage
I must confess that I've purchased my fair share of games on Steam sales and then never actually got around to playing them. Civ 4 Colonization, Resident Evil 5, Trine, and Empire Total War are all in my list of purchased games, but I haven't even installed all of them yet. Those Steam sales are just so tempting because you see a game that you're moderately interested in, and you don't know if it will ever be available for that price again. Either that or the sale price is so small compared to what we're used to paying (especially for those of us who are also console gamers) that they almost turn into impulse buys. I don't get the fascination with RE5. It's...just...dull. I finally realized I was never actually going to care enough to work through it and deleted it a few weeks ago. LOC Veteran Posted July 2, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 2, 2010 I have a VIP account, so most of the games on my account are not paid for they are VIP'ed. I do however when there is a sale and the game I want or wanted isn't on my list, buy them. Like now :D

MightyJordan
I'm tempted by the Bionic Commando Pack. Both games for ?8. What about Borderlands? It's on sale today for ?6.79. There's no demo, so I can't test it out for myself, but what do you guys think?
MR_Candyman
The only one I played of those was Dark Athena, and I loved it. The Chronicles of Riddick games are actually 2 of my all time favorites

The only problem is you basically have to cater to the lowest level player

Redacted
At least most of the Neowin members practice moderation and only buy what they want to play. I've read people (on Reddit and other sites) who simply buy it and have a huge library of 60+ games they have yet to play. It's quite sad to see that happen and makes you question their intelligence. I purchased over 80 games in this sale - But there is reason for it. 1) I WILL get around to playing them and they are games I want to play. 2) I won't need to buy any more games (Aside from TDU2) for a long long time now - I'm talking more than a couple of years here. The sale meant I could stock up on loads of games for cheap - Why does this make me stupid?
briangw
I was excited that at noon yesterday X3 Reunion and X3 Terran Conflict started the 24 hour sale at $19.99 for both. When I got home from happy hour, it was not offered for that price. So, I still ended up buying Terran Conflict for $19.99 cause I heard it was a good game for space simulation.
