... That's blurry.

Of course Spookie.

Was about to say, it's not that much better - Looks like a bump in resolution, that's it.

Overall the picture is still very fuzzy and slightly blurry, major lack of details and sharpness. Even worse is your running windowed mode and it still manages to look so fuzzy, you'd think that would make it

a bit more crisp to look at.

Yup, not sure why the screen grabs look that way, because they are not blurry when on the screen. However, those grabs are much better than the other grab the poster has above. Details are great and sharp when playing.

Whilst cloud based computing is great for people who cannot afford to build gaming computers, for me it will never replace having physical copies of my games. Yep, some services like Steam and Xbox Live have their flaws as well, but the overriding difference with those kind of services is that you have physical copies of your games, so there will always be a way to play them (in the case of steam, you don't get games on disks but backing them up isn't exactly hard). For me, a service that offers no redundancy and offers no backup or compensation for a game that you pay full price for will remain unattractive until such a point that said safeguards are put in place.

Maybe they could simply mail people a physical copy of the game. I don't think that should be out of the question... after all you paid for it. Or least have an option to get one.

Oo. Ouch. And Onlive's quality just got knocked down a peg.

The sad thing, I am guessing he has never played it. I guess you have had to play it to experience. So far, so good here. And I have PC games, PS3 games, Xbox 360 games, Wii games and now OnLive games. OnLive has been working great. If you want to get a feel for what the majority are experiencing, visit us at the OnLive forums. Lot's of great feedback there.

Credit to Sethos.

Look at the tats, normal mapping and hell the textures. It's like going from SD to HD.

Onlive is going to be a massive flop at this time in society.

The console versions look better than the crap on the last pages.

What is it he needs to experience? It's just live streaming of games that are available to every man and god at a much lower resolution and graphical setting, not to mention the codec

handling the stream also takes a huge chunk of the visual effects. There is nothing to 'try', there is nothing to 'experience', it's just a case of games gone ugly.

He hasn't played Onlive from what I can tell. The odd thing is, not everyone has experienced all this "ugliness". Granted, it's 720p max, but the games look really good and play smooth, and I have yet to have any latency or lag issues. Then again, I am on the service, he is not.

And you posted screenshots where the game looks, frankly, horrendous - How does that help your case?

I don't agree with your assessment. Then again, I also mentioned the screenshot doesn't look as good as when you are playing it on the screen, which I have no idea why (unless it's a limitation of the Grab software on the Mac).

BTW, I don't have a case to make, lol. I am just enjoying the games. Doesn't matter what others think, right?

Christ, I had hope for this when they said the games were processed on "top-end" machines giving you high quality visuals. Turns out, it's crap.

I want to try Onlive, but the service can sound laggy and frustrating. With it only supporting IE and FF on windows, I am going with FF all the way. Most people dont even have a connection over 5Mbs. Consoles will stand strong against Onlive, its gonna fail any time soon, with the kin.

No defending here. Have no reason to.

They probably are. But your average (highest average speed is 10mb in the UK on Cable) connection can't stream it. :p

Really? You've saying in every post how I haven't played it. That seems fairly defensive to me! ;)

My Onlive experience has been a non-starter since it isn't launched in the UK. :D

Really? I just can't believe that they have all the equipment to play every game at high/ultra high. That would cost a crazy amount.

Looks like Digital Foundry has also found it to perform better than they expected:

My link

Nice. This beta ramp up has been a good idea indeed.
