Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has said the company is interested in releasing more HD collections in the future.

Speaking in an interview with IGN, Yoshida said the success of the God of War collection has shown Sony the demand for this type of product.

?Santa Monica Studios had the brilliant idea to upgrade and improve God of War for PS3 with the God of War Collection that we released last year,? Yoshida said.

?There were a lot of positive reactions from consumers in doing that, and now we get a lot of suggestions for types of packs they?d like to see.?

Yoshida then confirmed what most PS3 fans wanted to hear.

?We are looking to continue to do these HD conversions,? he said.

The next series in the collection comes in the form of Sly Cooper.Sony has designed a new type of packaging for Sly named ?Classics HD.?

The Sly Collection will be released alongside PlayStation Move later this year.

I saw this on Kotaku, but they had an obviously photoshopped Ico/SotC boxart, but at first I was like "OMG they are doing SotC in HD!"

But then realised they weren't, feel let down now, lol.

Metal Gear Solid 1 in HD - Yes please!

They should use the MGS4 engine,

half of MGS1 was already made in MGS4

, might as well go a step further and re-release it again, would be sweet!

Oh yeah, said that back in the MGS4 thread, MGS1 with the MGS4 engine would be a dream come true - Although, I'd settle for some polish and re-rendering to bring it into the HD generation.

I wish Blizzard would do the same for Diablo I and II. I know that they are developing Diablo III, but playing the old ones in HD would be awesome!!

It would look awesome of the MGS4 engine, but they would have to get rid of those awful loading sequences between chapters, lol.

But I wouldn't mind if they wanted to bring MGS 1, 2 and 3 to the PS3 in HD and not on the MGS4 engine, would probably take too long otherwise.

Don't lose all hope yet Corris...

PS3 Team Ico Collection outed (again)

Monday 28-Jun-2010 3:07 PM Amazon lists HD update

The much-rumoured Team Ico Collection has been listed on the French Amazon website.

The collection has been long rumored but as of yet remains unconfirmed. The Amazon listing brings yet more credibility that it is, indeed, real.

Sony's president of SCE Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, recently suggested that it is looking at releasing more classic PS2 games remastered in high-definition.

While this may simply be a reactionary move on Amazon's part, Yoshida's earlier statements will certainly lend the listing some credence, either way until Sony officially confirms it, the rumor mill will keep on turning.

I am ok with it just as long as its for select titles and not everything under the sun. The ps2 was just as bad as Wii is now with the crap ware. This needs to be restricted to greatest hits titles only. Also if they do any square enix games they need to let them be the international version in HD. Since we never get a KH final mix or FFX or X-2 international in the USA this would be a nice addition.

Yes!!!

Metal Gear Solid (much like The Twin Snakes for Gamecube) in HD is a must but with several tweaks in order for the games to be balanced (if the way to do it is by putting them on the MGS4 engine).

SotC of course...

Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank... so many possibilities.

Kill off the ridiculous 3D TV trend, remake some of your classics in HD and you'll have me eating out of the palm of your hand.

This really is a no brainer for Sony. Just like constantly releasing a new version of your console (see the PS2), releasing updated (graphically for the most part) games will get people to buy them all over again. Nintendo has done this for years, specifically look at the Gameboy Advanced and Super Mario Bros Advanced.

Would love it, but I'm betting 1st-party only, so no GTA trilogy, no FF, no MGS, no Kingdom Hearts, no DMC. Would love a Tomb Raider collection, too, but that won't happen. I'm wagering that GT, R&C, and Jak series games will, tho.
