Demon's Souls Actually Selling In Europe

Demon's Souls has only just come out in Europe, after an agonising delay. If you thought the wait would mean most of the target audience would have imported and passed on the local release, though, you're dead wrong.

It seems people were willing to wait (or were convinced to buy it a second time because ofthe PAL version's fancy box), as the game has debuted on the British charts in seventh place, an incredible achievement considering its niche appeal.

So well done, Namco Bandai, for having the guts to publish the game in the Old World, and well done to everyone that picked it up, because it'll send a message that stuff like this can happen more often.

Awesome (Y)

And if you don't have it, shame on you.

I don't have it because I have no money, but when I do I am too lazy to import it due to not liking the UK box it comes in.

Ah well, lol.

It's great to see that it is selling!

I don't think I'll bother getting the PAL version. I've hardly played my US copy since I got it back in December. Way too difficult for me, and I'm not a fan of the controls.

Well I'm pretty much an exclusive FPS player, but I'm loving this game. It's so damn deep! The difficulty is just a nice challenge. It can get pretty frustrating at times, but it's actually taught me how to deal with frustration in games a bit better. I was far too used to have a checkpoint every 10 feet!

Edit: Wow the PSN Portable ID sure does like to take its time updating!

I picked it up when it came out. Read lots of positive stuff about Demon's Souls so was glad it finally got released in Europe.

I'm about 4 hours in so far, taking things very slowly, but enjoying every minute of it.

It did take me a hour or so to get in to because it is a really challenging game, but once you get over that learning curve it really does hook you.

If you have a PS3, you need this game!

This game really is frustrating. I'm on the flame lurker boss and he's so hard. I got him down to quite low HP and he just oblitirated me, I nearly put my fist through something. I just keep telling myself that this is just how the game is though.

Flamelurker is tough, but his soul unlocks the ability to really customize and make good weapons from the blacksmith in 2-1.

I would just go and try doing another level though. Fighting your way through 4-1 is a good bet for levelling up.

Yeah I tried Flamelurker a few times so I'm just doing what you said and trying something else.

I have to say, I would really really like it if R3 didn't centre the camera. :pinch: The amount of times I've lost my bearings trying to lock onto an enemy just for the camera to spin around is silly.

Just beat the leech monster and the dirty colossus. They were really really easy after I got the flame spell. All you have to do is dodge from side to side when they shoot anything at you and keep hitting them with the flame spell. (Or flame bombs if you don't have the spell) Don't really like the levels you have to go through on that stage though. Can't remember the name of the place, but it's really depressing. It's all sewery type bogs and broken up huts, with plague ridden rats all over the place! Bit scary.

Picking up my copy today. After reading the topics of the US import I really wanted this game, but not pay ?50+ for an import. Glad they brought it out in the EU!

Everything I have read just makes me want to play it, can't wait!!!! :woot:
