wvcaudill2
Hello, I am looking for a video editing program to do some basic work. It needs to work with Windows 7 on a 64 bit system, with 4 gigs of ram and Intel core i3. The following features are a must: -Support all major filetypes. i.e. .mov, wmv, 3pg, mpeg, etc. -Easy clipping of imported videos/audio -Easily add audio overlay and adjust audio levels -Simple effects like fade in/out, etc. I would like to pay no more than $60. I used to use an Adobe program (Premiere Pro?), but I dont want to spend the money on a new version. Windows Live movie maker is out of the question because it does not support the filetypes I need. I tried Corel VideoStudio, but it kept giving me errors and closing when I tried to export files. What program would you recomend? farmeunit
Premiere Elements, maybe? I haven't tried the following two, but they are free so nothing to lose. There are other free ones also, but don't know how many you want to try. http://www.videospin.com/Redesign/ - Free http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/ - Free Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/916104-what-video-editing-program-would-you-recomend/#findComment-592841692 Share on other sites

farmeunit
Premiere Elements looks like a possibility. The other two free ones look like they wont work on Windows 7 Didn't even think about that. Sorry. I'm not big on the NERO since it became so bloated, but I heard the video editor in it is actually pretty decent in the newest version. I haven't used it either. I'm not a lot of help. Haha. Good luck though Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/916104-what-video-editing-program-would-you-recomend/#findComment-592846258 Share on other sites
ajua
Other option is Sony Vegas 10...I don't know its price but you can try it. Premiere is the best but you need to expend a lot. COKid
Do your homework if you choose Premiere Elements. The latest version gets terrible reviews on Amazon. I use several Adobe products, but this one appears to be a dud. http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-65045377-Premiere-Elements-8/dp/B002IJA1DM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1278038177&sr=1-1 If it were me, I would use Sony Vegas. You might need to spend more than $60 if you want something decent.
