What video editing program would you recomend?

Hello, I am looking for a video editing program to do some basic work.

It needs to work with Windows 7 on a 64 bit system, with 4 gigs of ram and Intel core i3.

The following features are a must:

-Support all major filetypes. i.e. .mov, wmv, 3pg, mpeg, etc.

-Easy clipping of imported videos/audio

-Easily add audio overlay and adjust audio levels

-Simple effects like fade in/out, etc.

I would like to pay no more than $60.

I used to use an Adobe program (Premiere Pro?), but I dont want to spend the money on a new version.

Windows Live movie maker is out of the question because it does not support the filetypes I need.

I tried Corel VideoStudio, but it kept giving me errors and closing when I tried to export files.

What program would you recomend?

Premiere Elements, maybe?

I haven't tried the following two, but they are free so nothing to lose. There are other free ones also, but don't know how many you want to try.

Premiere Elements looks like a possibility.

Didn't even think about that. Sorry. I'm not big on the NERO since it became so bloated, but I heard the video editor in it is actually pretty decent in the newest version. I haven't used it either. I'm not a lot of help. Haha. Good luck though

Other option is Sony Vegas 10...I don't know its price but you can try it.

Premiere is the best but you need to expend a lot.

Do your homework if you choose Premiere Elements. The latest version gets terrible reviews on Amazon. I use several Adobe products, but this one appears to be a dud.

If it were me, I would use Sony Vegas.

You might need to spend more than $60 if you want something decent.
