PS3 Slim to come in White w 160GB HDD

Nintendo must be so proud to know that Sony once again makes their gaming system look a little more like Wii.

When I first saw it in white, It really did remind me of the Wii

Makes me wonder about the storage capacity of the PS4.

320GB is allot for a game console.

Not really. Once you factor in all the downloads and hd videos these things can store it dwindles pretty damn fast. If I were Sony, I'd release the PS4 with a 512GB SSD, drop BluRay for gaming and switch to high capacity SD cards, or at the very least, support downloading of games directly to the drive, even if they are laced with DRM. BluRay is nice for movies, but performance is ****.

On subject, white is pretty :)

There was a white PS2?

Can't understand comments like this.

Looks very nice for any of those people with the white Samsung HDTVs, other than that I love my black Slim.

Sony should hire you because I'd buy the PS4 according to those specfications.

For game installs and add ons alone it'd be more than enough. I don't really watch hd movies on a console but I guess since it's becoming such a big thing according to MS and Sony why not.

Don't like the look of it but pretty obvious why they bumped it up to 320GB

I don't see the reason, what is it? lol.

Err, Sony have always brought out a white version of their console, it has nothing to do with the Wii.

250GB 360 Slimline as part of the default range now? It's obvious they wanted to 1-up Microsoft and I'm sure the 320GB will become more widespread soon enough.

I thought these were the models that were leaked to becoming a couple of months ago? and there has been the super elite out for ages too that is 250gb.

First part of that sentence made no sense to me :p

And the super-elite was more of a special offer, not part of the default line. The Slimline will become a default model that will be replacing a current SKU thus it will be much more widely available

at a favourable price. So I'm sure Sony will move to increase the HDD size on widely available SKUs just to push Microsoft a bit :)

That would be one expensive console. The 512 GB SSD would cost $3500 alone, and SSD prices aren't exactly dropping very fast.

I meant the first line to mean that there was a leak of two new PS3 models a couple of months ago but nothing was announced, so maybe these were them.

My guess is, he just made a failed attempt at dissing the Move here as well.

I love the look of a white ps3. So sleek-looking and definitely an attention-hog to visitors. It's like having a white grand piano in your home. Screams class and sophistication.

Yes, this picture was from back in Sept of last year. Seems they're finally coming around to them. People claimed the pic to be fake. Probably was, but sure looks a hell of a lot like the recent legit photos.

Well I hadn't seen that picture, lol.

I was talking about models found on that FCC website or whatever it is with some new ones listed.

I really cannot agree with any of you that think this is cool... I mean... white things does not belong in the media area of my livingroom, it should either be silver/gray or black.

Ok, I own a wii, it's white, but if i played it more, and cared more about it, i would mod it with a black case:p (it's out of warranty either ways so :p)

To me it seemed that Sony thought "Ok, so now microsoft is making the xbox 360 all black, what we have to do is make white the new coooool".

blah...nononono, this looks horrid :(

And the black Wii is,... what exactly?

And I'm disappointed: all these posts, and no "The PS3 comes in white, and so do I" jokes?

The opening post is incorrect...

Only the Black PS3 Slim will be released with 320gb HDD - the White will be 160GB...

CECH-2500A (HDD 160GB, Charcoal Black)

CECH-2500A LW (HDD 160GB, Classic White)

CECH-2500B (HDD 320GB, Charcoal Black)

Why would they do this?

Idk, but you appear to be right. (Fixed) Thanks for the post. (Y)

Ay yi yi, still with the ugly black buttons on the white controllers :(

The console itself looks nicer in white though, but I don't like the touch control area being silver (N)

If I were Sony, I'd release the PS4 with a 512GB SSD,

And push the costs back up to $700? No thanks

Edit: actually a 500GB SSD in the UK costs £1660+ from my very quick search. Yeah.....Sony aren't going to do that ;)
