Dessimat0r
I once had a really nasty virus on my Amiga - the CCCP virus. It screwed up the bootblock on each floppy and remained resident in memory for 5 mins after the Amiga was turned off. Very nasty.
TranceSphere
I've had a really nasty one last year (my m8 got it from kazaa). I cant remember what it was called but it infected .exe .doc .jpg .mp3 and loads of others too.  Ended up formatting it
giga Veteran Posted July 13, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 13, 2003 formatting is not always that bad..pc goes much faster...and smooth.. the only trouble is installing and settting everything up again
Keldyn
I know how you feel... I did a scan of my system last night and found 72 infected files.. I still don't know how the hell it happened. First time I have ever been hit by a virus too. 15 mins later I was back up and running thanks to a ghost restore. (Y)

zhangm Supervisor Posted July 13, 2003 Supervisor Share Posted July 13, 2003 I have a sircam and klez.h in my e-mail inbox... A couple MSN worms on my other computer... But I only got infected once from Messenger. Usually, I have a good policy about not downloading any suspicious files. :)

maplecookie Veteran Posted July 15, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 15, 2003 i want! i could have some fun with that!! lol LOL! :D Good luck finding something like that again. It was about 5 years ago. We only discovered it, because my sister was playing with the paint program and painted the background that color and the kid's face popped up! They called me home from a date to fix it!!

uniacidz
I constantly get bombarded by them, via MSN or via email and even mp3 sites. Only reason why i get bombarded from MSN and email, is because other users think they so damn smart and dont need antivirus software. Its taken a long time, but now they have had a brain explosion and realised that its just safe computing to install av software. For themselves and for the benefit of others. But i have never been infected, not once.
~pixel~
Had a virus about a year ago in form of an outlook express exe. Dunno how it got on my desktop, but as curious as i was  I double clicked it only to find that the little bugger extracted loads and loads of spam files into my HD which then just totally maxed out my HD space.
