deletedxyz
BAM! Dragon Age 2!PC. Xbox 360. PS3 Dragon Age 2 thrusts players into the role of Hawke, a penniless refugee who rises to power to become the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age. Known to be a survivor of the Blight and the Champion of Kirkwall, the legend around Hawke's rise to power is shrouded in myth and rumor. Featuring an all-new story spanning 10 years, players will help tell that tale by making tough moral choices, gathering the deadliest of allies, amassing fame and fortune, and sealing their place in history. The way you play will write the story of how the world is changed forever. GameTrailers BioWare and Electronic Arts have announced that Dragon Age 2 is in development and scheduled to release in March of 2011 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The new main character is Hawke, a refugee and survivor of the Blight who mysteriously rose to power. In a recent press release from EA, Hawke was identified as “the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age.” Games Radar

Lathanielt
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a God!!!!! This is the best news.......EVER!!! I think this was the best RPG I have ever seen/played and the value it gave was immense. And after Awakenings, I am itching for more.... Thank you for the info
Osiris
the press release sounds like fail completely new character in the future and in a different land "dynamic" combat system *cough* witcher *cough* only male or female character selection, no races, no origins storylines for you! New art direction I predict failure of the nth degree. I love how hollywood can reproduce remake after remake and make money but these clowns cant even take a winning formula and replicate it without fing it up. I love how hollywood can reproduce remake after remake and make money but these clowns cant even take a winning formula and replicate it without fing it up. Dragon Age was one of the best rated games in the past few years.Failures such as the first Dragon Age, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Jade Empire and previous titles, right? Dragon Age is one of the hardest games I have played and it took me quite a while to get used to it. The only main complaint I had about Dragon Age is that its sub plots did not join together fluently. For example, my character went from fighting werewolves in forests to fighting Darkspawn in caves. I wish the writing was given more consideration. Hopefully, the sequel will improve upon that.
Andre S. Veteran Posted July 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 9, 2010 I hope they improve the graphics significantly. Dragon Age looked rather bland and dated.

dknm
A taste of DA2 right after a 2 week dip into Starcraft 2 ? Yes please !? Out of the presser , there's some meh's that could be for the better : The Mass Effect treatment could mean less clutter in the dialogue interactions . I'm of belief that you could trim from occasions when there's 5-6 options . ?
deletedxyz
I hope they improve the graphics significantly. Dragon Age looked rather bland and dated. I concur. It did not have the polish that made the environments even more impressive. Hopefully, it will look as good as the first Witcher or better. Dragon Age 2 is said to be taken in a new art direction. trag3dy
It may be just me but it looks like they are changing the art direction too. The armor the guy is wearing in the picture is totally different than anything in Origins or Awakening. Helps to read all the comments, Masked Forever beat me to the art direction comment. And personally, I hope they make the game a lot harder, after I got the healer in my group I had such an easy time with the game. Only one fight gave me a slightly hard time and it wasn't the final boss of the game.

Dragons AGe was a great game I very much love the game and more than got my moneys worth in replays as well as reading the books and getting the expansion. Im just disappointed that it doesnt continue on, like ME and limiting the character choices etc. I guess ill have to reserve judgement until I see the trailer but at this point its not the sequel announcement I was hoping for. I completely agree with that point. It would be quite a pity if the cast from the first DA were not included in this one. What if the main lead for the sequel is Morrigan's spawn?! What if the main lead for the sequel is Morrigan's spawn?! Yeah I imagine she'd be the only tie in tot he original if its set in the future and far away. Maybe youre not her spawn or maybe you are but they could easily add in her child and history even if hes an enemy or part of the game. It would be disappointing even more if they dont address what happened with that.

Massiveterra
As far as I've read, this game will be built with console in mind (controller-friendly), will have very little to do with the first game, will be an action RPG and less of a PC RPG, will have a closer field of view, and will have less RPG elements
HilariousNinja
Loved the first so far, got stuck on Broodmother a while back and just thought I'd wait until summer holidays come to finish the rest of the game. Really looking forward Dragon Age II though.
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted July 13, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 13, 2010 Awesome news! I barely scratched the surface with Dragon Age: Origins. For a moment though, I thought 8/17/2010 was the release date. In actuality, it's the release date of the debut trailer.

deletedxyz
Loved the first so far, got stuck on Broodmother a while back... That was one hard boss fight. I lost count of how many times I had to quick load during the entire game. I really hope this game is more fluent in terms of story than the previous one. 45-60 hours of gameplay with an inconsistent transition between non quest stories is quite a commitment to ask for. Osiris
HQ Scans of preview article, worth a look: http://moviestinger....-game-informer/ Does contain some spoilers RE: Plot. - Overall still looks good - Confirmed save game from 1 will affect 2 - 3 bases classes, same as origins but with better specialisation system - Morrigans tale isnt finished - improved interaction system with party members - magic spells deal finishing blows, ala AoC should be visually good. Im officially pumped for the game again
