Gravity Crash developer Just Add Water?s announced it?s developing a whole new batch of Oddworld titles ?across multiple platforms.?

No specific details were provided by the Yorkshire-based studio, but it said the games would star ?all of your favourite Oddworld characters.?

More will come ?over the coming weeks and months.?

?To work with the team at Oddworld has been amazing; being able to tap the minds of Lorne Lanning, Sherry McKenna and others has been fantastic,? JAW boss Stewart Gilray said of his delight to be working on the series.

?It?s almost symbiotic in that when something moves forward on any of the projects we just start chatting about new items, or what if we do this. We?re all extremely excited to breathe life into the Oddworld universe and indeed to let it breathe life into us.?

Discussions with JAW and the series creators Lorne Lanning and Sherry McKenna began back in June last year.

Get pumped.

Full details are below, via JAW?s website.

It?s with a huge amount of pride that we can announce that for the past 12 months we have been working extremely closely with the fantastic people at Oddworld Inhabitants, from what started off as brief discussions in June 2009, to now working on multiple projects, across multiple platforms.

Whilst we cannot go into specifics right now, we can tell you that over the coming weeks and months we will be announcing these exciting projects starring all of your favourite Oddworld characters.

?To work with the team at Oddworld has been amazing; being able to tap the minds of Lorne Lanning, Sherry McKenna and others has been fantastic,? said Just Add Water?s Managing Director Stewart Gilray.

That's really good news... :) I was just looking at my Abe's Oddysee PS case and saw there were supposed to be four originally, and there were. Good to hear about more coming.

(I wish you could con them into porting the Xbox ones to the PC!)

As long as they are like Abes Odyssey and Abes Exodus ill be happy, oh and as long as they are released on PC as well.

Woop, I have Abes Odyssey and Exodus sitting on my shelf, they were both quite awesome.

Its a pity they decided to bring the later sequels out on a different platform, somewhat abandoning the audience built up over the Playstation era.

Still, looking forward to what comes out of this. :D

They need to release the first two games with high quality graphics.

How about, new games with the same graphics as the first two games? ;)

(I can always dream)

JAW boss: Something Oddworld-related to be announced, possibly released ?by end of July?

July 19th, 2010 @ 08:08

By Johnny Cullen

Just Add Water boss Stewart Gilray has told VG247 that something on the studio?s Oddworld revival will be announced by the end of July, and may even release in the same period.

But as for any gamescom announcements, stick a knife in them: Gilray says there?s nothing planned for the ?big stuff? at the German show next month.

?Right now, we?re not planning anything for gamescom at all,? he said. ?So put those rumours to bed right now.

?We are doing something which will be announced, I?m liking to think, by the end of July, and might even be released by the end of July. But none of the ?big stuff? will be announced yet. Not gamescom, nothing on that.?

He went on to add: ?So for everybody saying to us, ?Oh, it?s gamescom?: nothing is gamescom.?

The studio announced on early Friday morning that it was creating several Oddworld titles ?across multiple platforms.?

Does that mean a Stranger's Wrath sequel or was Stranger nobody's favourite character? :p Anyway, I'm really excited about this. If OWI are involved then I'm confident it will be good. I wonder what this means for Citizen Siege and the Oddworld films.

I know, I'm looking at it on ebay right now, rofl.

The sound is messed up on Munch's Oddysee. You might be able to play it but...the sound is pretty important so I wouldn't bother.

Although I never actually finished any of them, I loved the original Oddworld games on the PS One. I even bought them on Steam so I might some day get around to beating them. More Oddworld games sounds exciting. I just hope they either push a PC version or I get my PS3 before they come out.
