i/o error

Recommended Posts

When downloading large games, 250mb + I get i/o errors when I go to install them. I even re-installed windows xp pro to try and solve this problem but it still exists.

1500/256 cable

xp pro

some games are:

wolfenstein mp demo

america's army 1.7 full

Not sure what to do and how to fix, any help would be great, also those downloads have been tried many times, as many as 8 different mirrors for that army game and all give that same corruption error.

I read in a couple of posts on search that bad ram could have something to do with a corrupted file. I did recently add 256mb to my pc maybe a month or so ago, not sure if that is where my problem began as I had this problem once before on a 650mb download of an iso, but normally big downloads worked.

Anyone got any ideas on either this is just the file not being downloaded completely or some ram messing it up as it transfers from temp to the save location?
