It's quite funny that people only choose to remember the stuff they want. But like to forget when Nintendo had the closed system for games and this badge actually meant something.

Thank you, somebody pointed it out. Up until recently you couldn't even get SDKs for game consoles (ignoring oddities like that black PS1 or whatever it was), so in comparison Apple's system is far more open.

So they're going to start removing films/tv shows with violence from the iTunes Store then?

Oh right, they're not.

Although I do like the part about buying Nintendo and I's

Still, I bet you all played to your hearts content as a kid despite games getting through the net that were completely faulty/broken.

That seal just meant that the game was licensed by Nintendo. :)

I voted 'no' but I actually feel a 'maybe'. I'd have to see the pricing, the specs, the controller, and the game line up before I could even think about making a decision on possibly purchasing an Apple made console.

Nope. You wont get games like COD, GTA, or any other violent games as Jobs would deem them inappropriate. Also, I doubt they could get a wireless controller to work properly.

No, Microsoft offers more than enough now. I love Apple products but I feel gaming is a bit out of their league, they would need many, many games and would have to be much more then 'just another platform'.

I like all the people making fun of Apple and how their console would be a closed system.

HELLO?

Every console on the market is a closed system! Joe Shmoe can't make a PS3 game. He needs Sony approval. Joe Shmoe can't make an Xbox360 game. He needs Microsoft approval.

Ha, ironic because I already use my iPhone as a wireless controller for my PC.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: I wouldn't buy a video game console made by Apple. Why? Well, going by what they've done with the app store... I'd imagine their library of games would be somewhat limited. They'll likely release casual games but if they don't, then I might be interested. I think Apple certainly has the potential to be a serious gaming company but they simply lack the industry experience to make it ahead of Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft (in a short amount of time). Of course, that may not be the case considering the cult-like nature of some Apple customers. A good example is the release (and subsequent success) of the iPod and iPhone.

I like nearly all their products, but probably not. The games would be very "wii-like," only for the casual gamer. Which isn't bad if its a secondary function of say, the AppleTV. But a dedicated box? no thanks. I prefer more serious consoles for that. Not to mention with App Store prices it'd be very hard to convince these major publishers to develop for it. If they did, it would result in mediocre games. Apple knows this, which is why they will likely follow the trend of the iPhone and open the App Store up for AppleTV. Like the iPhone, gaming wouldn't be it's primary function, but just part of it. It'd be there way to test the market, but much like a dedicated handheld for gaming (not counting iPod touch) they won't release a dedicated console.

Lol because of thenpeople saying it would be locked up and stuff,, like you can currently play a console game on another console. And all of the consoles accept and reject what they want.

I personally would never buy any Apple product, leave aside a gaming console.

No, because if anything went wrong with it, I would get an email "You're playing it wrong"

And yes for the record I like most Apple things...

No.

Reason being, unless Apple makes a fully fledged first party group of developers that will make amazing games, then it's all going to be third party stuff which I could easily obtain for the 360/PS3, and its next-gen counterparts. Even if it had an innovative control scheme, most of the time you're going to get shoe-horned control schemes in and probably wouldn't be that fun to play. Plus, it probably would be really expensive. I already end up getting the 3 main consoles anyway, having to pay for an extra (and overly expensive) fourth console is just too much for me. They'd really have to wow me with an Apple console in order to make me get one.
