I agree with what everyone is saying: It would undoubtedly be overpriced, and very restricted due to licensing issues with games. Besides, Apple's crap move with the iPhone 4 really leaves me skeptical when considering purchasing any of their products in the future.

Unless something has changed, you can't put your games on the Xbox unless MS approves of it.

Sure you can. The XNA community games is a community review process and even if you don't get it approved for the marketplace you can still distribute it yourself. It just requires the people that want to play it have a Creator's Club account as well.

is the iphone considered a console?

If it is, then I say I have put more hours into games on the platform than any other portable platform I've used

I voted no.

Judging by the new Iphone, the console would only be playable if you tip it on its side and have someone stand just to the right of it.

No, because I don't want SteveO to tell me what I can play.

You mean like how you can just download any game you want online and play it on your 360/PS3? With no hacking/firmware tinkering at all?

Anyways, I think that their game console strategy is pretty evident in the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. They aren't competing against Microsoft, they're competing against Nintendo. If they did have a TV-connected game console, it would more than likely be in the form of Apple TV 2.0, running with an A4 chip and iOS and the App Store.

Iwould be open to purchase it. But remember , we purchase consoles for their games & not vice versa. So the games on that platform have to justify the purchase.

Nope...Think they mean, that if a violent game is released for all platforms, stevie boy can say its too violent for the apple console and not licence it. Like the app store, you would have people willing to develop for it, but steve locking it down to suit his taste.

Never.

For one, I hate Apple. I will never purchase one of their products.

Secondly, the market doesn't need a fourth ****ing console on the market. 3 is plenty and, if anything it's too much. >_>

Plus, I'd be afraid if something ever went wrong, it'd be my fault because I was holding something wrong.

"Yes, the video out isn't working correctly."

"That's because you're holding the controller the wrong way."

Sounds like Sony!

I got a PS2 at launch for Christmas. One of the first million or so shipped to NA, had problems right from the beginning (Disk Read Error the FIRST time I turned it on to boot)

After about 6~ months I called Sony because it had almost completely stopped functioning, and they blamed ME for not taking care of it, and wanted $150 to fix it.

No.. they'd sell it as "revolutionary" even though the tech has been out for years and you'd have to hold your controller a certain way otherwise it would drop the connection to the console

Mmm, like Nintendo never did anything like that.

Oh give it a rest. It was funny the first 20 times.
