God of War III Fail

Recommended Posts

I love God of War; all of them. They are all excellent games that have always done an excellent job of just feeling huge. Kratos has not only killed thousands upon thousands of monsters of all shapes and sizes, he has killed not just one but as far as I've gotten into 3, "most" of the major Gods. He has flung himself thousands of feet into the air and slew a couple of the titans, creatures of immense size and strength. I've seen him throw himself for hundreds of feet using only his blades or jump 10 feet in the air straight up.

Spoiler Alert

However...I have just gotten to the labyrinth, and it ruined the mood for me. Hera just took off and so here I am in a hedge maze...My first instinct was to jump over the bushes or cut them down, seeing as how I can jump higher than they are tall. The game won't let me. So after all Kratos has proven he is capable of, I'm about to be challenged by a decorative bush...As soon as I got to this labyrinth it just completely removed me from the epic feel of the game and had me going, "Seriously guys?".

However the rest of the game so far has been totally awesome. Anybody else have a moment in an otherwise awesome game where you just stepped back and went, "This is really all you could come up with?"

Meh, I've beaten the game like 2-3 times so it doesn't really matter. You also have to remember the number of people from the original team who left before God of War 3.

I feel your spoiler kinda messed with the pace of the game. I like those kinds of "parts" if that is what the game is about. But in this case, that was one of the worst parts of the game (besides the very end).

Interesting, having never played any of the God of War games before GoW3 I didn't need a single walk through. The lack of instructions on puzzles just reminded me of older games and their constant need to not tell you how to do something, lol (remembers Max Payne dream level... grrr lost in a maze for 3 hours!!!!!).

There is an echochrome moment in GOW3

And I can't figure out

echochrome

on my PSP :( So I used youtube to get the last part of it.

Yes, I know. I was just saying for me is all...just venting!

The only puzzle I ever used a guide for was the Prince of Persia water puzzle. Specifically because experimenting with the puzzle to understand it made it impossible to solve. Spent four hours with two friends trying to figure it out, we eventually did but couldn't get there after so many different configurations. Had to redo an entire section of the game get back to the puzzle to solve it.

I will admit the labyrith part was hard to figure out but nothing ever compares to GoW I on PS3 where they make you do that one puzzle that involves pushing a cart across some room with spikes but do it before the time runs out and you get spiked to death. I spent more time on that one part of the game than I did for other parts of GoW I, II and III. I freaking hated that room. Eventually I broke down and used a youtube glitch video on how to do it and passed it on the first try.

Ahhhhaaaa, remember that one. Didn't cause me too much trouble. Once I figured out the best way to do it.

  • 2 weeks later...

So happy I will finally get to play this game tonight :)

Played through 1 and 2 in about a week, and they were great games. They really stumped me pretty good at a lot of areas, but nothing a little running around and thinking couldnt solve, but sure was frustrating at times.
