How PlayStation Move Trumps Wii And Kinect, According To Sony

This is a page from Sony's Holiday 2010 catalog. Click it to enlarge before you start debating it. One element not compared is price, of course, which we broke down yesterday.

 OMG, really? I thought Kinect's comparison to the Wii was flawed, but all those comparisons from the Move to the Kinect are what make the Kinect a better system!! No need for controllers and no need for batteries. :woot:

There is more games that will support Move than I thought would for this season from that list.

Might have to get myself Move for Time Crisis, ah the good old days of aiming a gun at a TV back on the PS1.

The list is as stupid as the one Microsoft made, I wish these companies would stop with the comparison tables, we only pick at the obvious holes in them.

The only "problem" is that it seems like most will be Wii-like clones. echochrome is a good example of thinking outside the box, IMO. I'm hoping that the difference in the Kinect controller will give studios the freedom to expand out of Wii games.

They're all stupid, but some are stupider than others...

Was also posted on the frontpage earlier, https://www.neowin.net/news/sony-creates-a-comparison-table-between-move-kinect-and-wii looking at those comments most people can, surprisingly, see straight

through Sony's usual BS. This is the reason why Sony doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to gaming - They are all about snake oil and hot air.

Some super funny comments there too.

Do'h! :pinch: That's what I get for lurking in the forums...

I don't see how Kinect could be any better than PS Move. Kinect is just a camera, PS Move is a camera plus an actual controller with force feedback. Those people in the Kinect demos sure looked stupid.

This is all PR BS, just like the one from MS yesterday, to get people to buy their competing hardware. I still will not buy both because they are too expensive and seem like they are just going to be part of a smaller market for years to come.

I just changed my mind! Thanks DPyro! I'd much rather look like this:

Wait, no. I had that backwards. I'd rather look like this controlling my media playback:

I think Kinect is going to be an utter failure. If it is anything like most Microsoft products, it will be hugely buggy upon release, taking 1-2 years worth of patching before you finally get consistency in usage.

Oh, and speaking to an actual developer, he says the camera will be horribly laggy if there's no dedicated processor and it has to depend on the 360 to process everything.

Ah yes, now we are past the 360 vs PS3 now it's their offspring, Kinect vs Move

The PS3 is still in third place half way through it's generation, so now it's time to Move.

It looks like that kid and family are having a blast with that particular type of game...

But good thing you would never move around with the Sony Move

(I especially like how much fun she has getting the uber-precise controller to start the game)

Ree..hee...heeally..... Old news is so exciting, but times, they are a-changing...

Sony should have responded with this:

The camera for the PS3 is fully capable of detecting motion as its predecessor on PS2 did, and has a built in mic which they could use for voice recognition. A lot of the Move Party games were originally on PS2 with the eyetoy. The PS Move will launch in a bundle for $400 also. I don't know why they included the price of the sub controllers there as they aren't needed and the PS3 bundle comes with two controllers - Move and DS3.

They eyetoy for the PS3 is not fully capable of capturing all motion, nor all motion of multiple people at once. In addition, they included the other the controllers because some Move games do require them. You won't be able to play all games with just the bundle, and you will only be able to use one person with the bundle.

This proves how much of a fail Sony is. Some of the things mentioned are unbelieveable.

Might as well add "interchangeable batterys" no ps3, yes wii, no kinect(power source via USB)". Also wireless controller bahahaha. How about the free roam controller since that's what kinects camera does, YOU are the controller and your not attached...

God Sony the amount of fail from you guys and anyone who defends this chart needs to check themselves.
