strotee
You just know they have a list of stuff they keep out of 2011 and so they have something to add to 2012 And this is why I refuse to touch Madden. I made the mistake of buying '09 and I cannot remember when I bought it previously, maybe '04? Anyways, I just find it hard to believe they're doing as much as they can with the franchise without stiff competition. I played the 2011 demo and Gus Johnson's voice sounded so weird broadcasting football, I'm so used to him doing MMA bouts. Please please please let the gaming gods smite EA for having a monopoly on football games.
Darth Laidher
I'm definitely not getting madden 11 now because Another fact that's certainly going to enrage Madden diehards out there is that the Online Franchise, Offline Franchise, and Superstar modes are all untouched from last year's game. Using GameFlow means that games essentially fly by. I don't like that at all. there are still moments of frustration that creep into Madden's design. First of all, ball physics could've been better. Watching the ball bounce around the field and on different parts of a player model looks very artificial. All too often the ball will get caught on a piece of a player's body and will bounce around unrealistically. Also, as I've experienced in just about every Madden game in history, defensive backs are pretty incompetent when it comes to making interceptions. Madden needs to be scrapped and redone from the ground up. GameFlow coupled with all of the gameplay refinements that NCAA Football enjoyed make this year's title a real treat to play, but if you want a bunch of added features to Online or Offline Franchise mode, you're going to be sorely disappointed. And people are going to still buy it just because its Madden. Or just because its the NFL.If people would stop buying madden then they would either get rid of it completely or redo the whole thing. But people are to stubborn to give it up. Guest xiphi
I don't care for franchise mode, so doesn't bother me at all that it'sleft unchanged. Gameflow is a feature I love for when I just want to play the game and not worry about what play I should choose next. Though, for those who don't like it they can always use the old way. I'm so far impressed with madden 11.
mattmatik
I've always been the opposite. NCAA was always a day 1 purchase for me and I'd buy Madden probably every other year. Incorporating players from NCAA into Madden has always kept my Madden games fresh so no need to buy the newest game. However, for those like me who have played NCAA for a long time, while NCAA 11 is a great game, there still is so much EA can do to make it better. They haven't changed the announcer lines in, what seems like, 4 years. The canned animations for interceptions and such make it a pain in the ass. And while they did incorporate some "new" ESPN features, it's not anywhere near what Madden or even NFL 2K was. I'd like to pick up NCAA and Madden this year but I know once FIFA comes out, and especially NHL 11, I won't play them. It's a shame too because I could always count on NCAA/Madden to last me a year at least.

Franchise mode is a must for me.Online play is cool and all but it gets lame when you have people running one play all the time. With them leaving stuff out of franchise mode and not even bothering to update it is a one of the breaking points for me. I haven't played NCAA on the current generation I think the last one I played was in 06 for the ps2.So when I picked up NCAA 11 it was a breath of fresh air. When you only play madden and then switch to NCAA 11 it feels like NCAA is way above madden at-least for me it does. The glitches and morphing and things like that don't seem to be as apparent in NCAA 11 then maddens earlier offerings. ynnoj
This article pretty much sums up Madden 11 for me. I wish they'd just go all out one year, but then what would they have to add to Madden 12?

gate1975mlm
I played the demo and I must say its not worth the time it took to download. The visual detail hasn't improved and its dumbed down completely for the noob, even when you choose to play the old way its noobish. Its madden 10 with noob features pretty much,The same animations are there(thats no surprise they never change them)the visuals are almost the same as last years the play calling sucks ugh it just sucks IMO. Sad to say but I half to agree with you :( Looks like another year playing Madden 08 on my PC :( I have yet to pay for a Madden game on my PS3. Was really thinking about getting Madden 11 but after playing the Demo I just find it boring! Its really sad how the current gen Madden games all just suck!! Thank god for Sony and MLB The Show :) EA needs to lern a thing or too from those wonderful developers at Sony San diego studio! If you guys want a good sports game get MLB 10 The Show or wait and get MLB 11 The Show in 7 Months!
SimplySchizo
No Sale! I still have 08. Not paying $60 for a roster update. :p

dead.cell
I haven't played a football game since maybe the early 2000's. Would Madden 11 at least be good in the sense that I don't have any of the previous games? Not a big college football fan either. Just thought I'd ask, since it seems much of the complaints seem to be a lacking update to it, which doesn't really affect me having not played a football game in so long. Its more noob friendly, this would be the best madden for you.Other than that I wouldn't recommend it unless you're just getting it because you want to play with the current football players. I think Madden 11 is lacking pretty hard. The improvements they put in the game to me isn't really improvements but a dumbing down of the game. JamesKKcameron
According to me if you loose fear of death in the game then you can play with the amazing effciency in there and thats why I have completed almost all the stages in the master category. So this is my funda to play the game.
Unrealistic
I loved Madden last year and have sadly bought every iteration since 08 (for the next gen platforms). While I'm not sure about this years yet, I went ahead and pre-ordered it for $40 for the xbox. If my friends would continue this season on 10, I probably wouldn't have bought it, but they are all buying 11, and that's how we do our fantasy football. Unrealistic
Well, I've been buying the game since around 1996, but I skipped out on a few years, especially once the Xbox hit. I started buying NFL Fever and NFL 2K series.
rajputwarrior
ign reviewed it. gave it an 8.0 mainly because they toke out franchise/owner mode (which i never did, i just liked playing the season mode). they didn't care for gameflow much (what hardcore football fan would?) but said overall the gameplay is solid. definitely picking this up tomorrow.
