Nick H. Supervisor Posted July 25, 2010 Supervisor Share Posted July 25, 2010 Hi guys, Yesterday everything was fine. I played some games, and turned the PS3 off as usual when I was done. Today, I unplugged the Playstation at the wall because I needed the power adapter (UK -> Swiss) temporarily. Once finished, I plugged the Playstation back in and turned it on to play a game. It turned on fine, but all I got was a black screen. Turning it on and off again produced the same results. So I turned it off, plugged in the SD A/V cable, and held the playstation power button for 5 seconds, resetting the video settings. Sure enough, the TV lit up and I was presented with the welcome screen (christ it looks horrible in SD though, how did I ever manage before?). I've tried going in to the video settings and going back to HDMI, but everytime the screen goes black and nothing shows. I've unplugged the HDMI cable at both ends, then reattached it, but still nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else before? Does someone know if it's a problem with the PS3 or my HDMI cable (logitech brand)? Is there a solution, or is my fat, launch PS3 as good as dead? Cheers guys. EDIT: Fixed the problem. Not sure what the problem was, but I never considered turning the TV off and back on again. For some reason, that sorted it. I'm a moron basically. Southern Patriot
Yeah, my TV used to do that from time to time. Annoyed the hell out of me.
