[Cancelled] Stargate Universe (Season 2)

Recommended Posts

I agree that this is a good show - Star Trek in general and Stargate SG-1 are a bit too silly for my taste, with plotlines that either don't go anywhere or don't make sense, but this series is really good, it's just a good drama. Don't need to be a Sci-Fi fan particularly to enjoy it.

Plus Robert Carlyles in it, which is a surprise. A welcome one though.

Good-ol SyFy, basically spoiling the cliffhanger ending of season 1 in that promo. I can take a pretty damn good guess at who lives and who dies now. :(

Yup, although the chances are they'll kill a few red shirts and none of the main cast will be touched.

I gotta say I'm a little disappointed with that promo.

Seems like Chloe may be undergoing some kind of funky alien transformation which seems way too obvious from early on that some like that would eventually happen.

Yeah Syfy should of just said coming soon and then flashed scenes really quickly so it leaves mystery

yeah as soon as I watched it I thought that :( Then again, with so many of the main characters in jeopardy I don't think they could've put out a promo that didn't spoil the cliffhanger.

Still, the promo looked good and I can't wait for the new season to start! :D

Was that Robert Knepper? That guy is pure quality. Thing is, every role I see him, I can hear him saying "Hello pretty" and hanging out his pocket!

Looks even better than season 1.

I gave up on Science Fiction a long time ago, but BSG caught my eye, and this did too. Great shows.

After finishing the entire BSG series, I can say that it is hands-down the best TV series I've ever watched. Not a single bad episode, ever! The only thing that sucked was watching the last episode because I knew it was the last :( I'll always be an SG, Trekkie, Andromeda fan, but BSG is #1 in my book.

Next season is going to be awesome! Though I will agree, that video does slightly spoil a few things, not just from the Season 1 cliffhanger we all had.

At least Season 2 is not far off from starting! September 28th is when the show returns again! :D

Yeah and then in December it'll take off for 2 years with one of SyFy's "breaks" :(

Robert Carlyle revealed that we learn right at the start of the second season

that Rush has found the bridge of the Destiny and has been piloting the ship. But the rest of the crew won't find out until he and Young go investigate a nearby alien craft in the seventh episode. Until then, Rush's duplicity and secrecy reaches epic levels:

Rush is still at it in the second season, but even more so this time. When we join the second season, we discover instantly - in the first two or three scenes in fact - that Rush has discovered the bridge of the ship. Not only has he discovered the bridge, but he knows how to fly the thing. He's steering it around. [The others] don't know that. He hasn't told anyone this. He's under pressure, because the countdown clock when they stop the ship is not activating. The ship is stopping, the clock is not activating, and there are no planets in sight. Rush keeps leaving the room at these points.

There's an eleven page scene, according to Carlyle, in which Young and Rush discuss the big secret he's been keeping, and then another six page scene after that where Rush confesses everything. He says these are very unusual for television in their length, and he calls them tremendous. He then, with tongue slightly in cheek, called the result of their conversation "a game changer", in which Young decides to team up with Rush because the truth is so "mind-boggling." It leads Young and Rush to realize they need to embrace being on the ship...but, as Carlyle points out, there's still the question of whether Rush is actually telling the truth.

^ Would be nice to see them team up. Their feud was rather annoying at time in season 1. Although it was much needed given the other stories they were pushing.

did they say this or are you assuming?

He's assuming. Not even the writers know if there will be a greenlight for season 3. And no, there won't be a 2 years delay between season 2 and season 2.5. That was the entire purpose of the "delays" between half seasons. So that the hiatus between actual seasons won't be so big.
