Grand Theft Auto V set in Hollywood?

Of course you can buy guns in the UK, shotguns, rifles and pistols. In GTA the main character hardly goes into a proper gun shop, buys a gun and waits a few days for clearing period does he?

Well actually you do, but without the waiting periods :p

it's definitely not the same as the gun laws in the UK though. That doesn't mean to say they couldn't have a black market system to sell the guns in whichever country they choose though.

As long as it's set in the 80s i'll be happy. And maybe set it in a Miami type city :shifty:

or better yet all the gulf states i mean c'mon with most of the machines that we'll be playing it on having internet connectivity why not make the next one a bigger game like a world wide edition?

I hope they try something different this time, im getting bored of 'starting the game and arriving to the city after being in jail/an immigrant/other unspecified event, with an arbitrary lock on being able to go across the bridges to the other islands because of terrorist event or some accident, fighting your way up crime syndicate ladder' crap they pull every game, i love GTA but its wearing a bit thin now. How about having it from the other point of view being a cop or undercover cop trying to infiltrate crime syndicates or to stop some sort of terrorist threat.

GTA humour works because it parodies the US in common culture. It just wouldn't work elsewhere.

this.

It's been done.

lol, that's like saying Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas were also done in the first game!

Think the new GTA set in London would be fantastic, it'll be cool to drive round to my place! :p

i dont think R* will reveal anything about the city.

remember GTA4? they didnt reveal anything about it till near the release date.

They showed off LC 2 years before release.

Edit: Sorry 1 year before release.

I liked the part of "San Andreas" when you went to Vegas. I think a game based in Vegas would be really cool, think of all the content. Picture your and undercover cop within a mafia family, working your way to the top. Think of all the decisions you could make to alter the way the game plays out.

Oh, and strip clubs!

I don't think the game would work the same if it were set in a different country.

Like if we had a GTA UK (I know there was GTA London but that doesnt count..) - crime is different. Guns are not used nearly as much, and you certaibly can't buy them. Plus police are different. They dont tell you to freeze and hold you up with guns etc for driving too fast. >.>

It's got to be in America.

yeah I know, every time i seen my mom or dad get pulled over, the cop pulls a gun out.

and i see people murduring people everday. if you think that is what the US is really you are retarded

though for some reason I am getting a slight reading in my sarcasm detector

Im a bit bored of walking around a random city that is 80% background image with no actual interactivity.. but then I don't know how they could improve it wither without spending millions and passing the cost onto us.

I mean over the counter, haha. You can walk into a supermarket and order a shotgun in America, you can't do that here.

All that said though, the GTA formula just wouldn't work. It's mostly been based on muscle cars, big cities, and American-style events.

you cant walk into a super market... a sporting good store maybe, not a super market

it should be pittsburg! oh wait they did that in fallout 3 huh

and muscle cars? try exotics

Another reason Rockstar will avoid places outside of the US as long as possible: US is the bigger market, and generally, people buy what they can relate to more. It was a big enough risk for them to make the main character of GTA IV a non-American.

I could see them doing Hollywood, making your character an agent, manager, or a cop forced to bend/break the rules.

What they should do is go back to the whole multiple city idea, allowing you to travel long distances and having smaller places all at once. One city is cool, but I want more variety and less useless detail.
