Need a tripod

Recommended Posts

My ?8 Hama is a POS :p

I need a decent tripod - I currently have a Nikon D5000 and my biggest lens is a 55-200mm.

I want something sturdy and futureproof, I'm not very tall (165cm ish) so I don't need something huge.

I'm stuck between the 055XPROB and the 190XPROB

Halp!! :)

Well I got myself a Manfrotto 055XPROB and I'm very happy with it :)

Quite a difference in size to my old one!

Nice, is it lighter than the older one? Have you felt it to be clearly better? I ask because the thought of upgrading my tripod has been on my mind for some time.

No it weighs a ****ing ton compared to that POS small one - and yes, it is considerably better. The Manfrotto cost 10x more and performs 100x better :)

I keep debating on getting that exact one. I just can never bring myself to spending the money (there's always something else I NEED to buy)

It really is very good, can't wait to get myself a good ballhead to go with it too :)
