SCEE's just confirmed it's holding its gamescom press conference on Tuesday, August 17 in Cologne.

The press conference kicks off at 6.00pm CET (5.00pm BST).

Sony's also announced the first batch of games its taking to the show, which includes:

  • Killzone 3
  • Gran Turismo 5
  • inFamous 2
  • LittleBigPlanet 2
  • DC Universe Online
  • Journey
  • Motorstorm: Apocalypse
  • Sorcery

This is only the second press conference to be announced for the show: EA said two weeks ago that it will be holding its presser on the same dayas Sony's, earlier in the afternoon.

Hopefully some game announcements, I was expecting a Resistance 3 showing of some kind at E3, but that wasn't anywhere to be seen, and no doubt The Last Guardian will be at TGS.

And they waited till Gamescom to announce the PS3 Slim which was pretty big, so who knows what they might have.

I am still looking for some Resistance 3 announcement, had a lot of fun on the Co-op Online mode, now they just need to take that part and give us Co-op SP too and I will be happy.

Also wouldn't mind some sort of XMB update or something similar.

I will be excited about that announcement if it makes it to the UNITED STATES.

I would have assumed it would have been part of E3 if something like PlayTV was coming to the US, I know Japan has their own device too that does the same thing that isn't mentioned in either the EU or US.

I love the idea of being able to DVR on the PS3 in HD. I had been doing that for a long time using my Xbox 360, and the Windows Media Center would DVR on the 360, but it would store the TV shows on the Windows Media Center PC, not the 360 HDD. I want native support, and with the PS3 that would be sweet.
