There's A Battlefield 3 Beta Invite In Your Medal Of Honor Limited Edi

EA sweetens the deal for players picking up the limited edition of the modern-day Medal of Honor reboot on October 12, with a beta invite for DICE's highly anticipated Battlefield 3 in every package.

We've heard nary a peep regarding Battlefield 3 since EA COO John Pleasants mentioned it back in June of 2009. All we've known since then is that the game is in development.

Now we know a sure-fire way to get into the beta.

Along with some extra weapons and a remastered version of Medal of Honor: Frontline (exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version), picking up the $59.99 limited edition of Medal of Honor ensures players a spot in the Battlefield 3 beta test, which should happen within twelve months of Medal of Honor's release, according to the EA beta website.

Medal of Honor goes on sale on October 12 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. I get the feeling sales numbers will be much higher now that this news has hit.

In my opinion, Battlefield 2 was their last top title. I detest Battlefield 2142 and Bad Company 1 & 2 (as much as i like them) are just a completely different sort of game and failed to deliver the same kind of entertainment that Battlefield 2 has and does give me.

I really hope this doesn't mean Battlefield 3 will be going multiplatform.

Looks like it is, very very sad :( I want huge maps, jets, nice things like BF2. But nooooo.

It will, in one way or another. Even a port of BF2 was on consoles.

Battlefield 3- consolefied? "INTERNET GOES TO DEFCON 1."

More tiny maps, unoptimized engines (well more so than BF2 and that's saying something), DLC and no mods? I might give this a pass tbh.

Totally agree, they just don't make games like BF2 anymore. I bought BC2 as I was sucked in by the graphics, sadly the maps are just way too small and the gameplay is repetitive - spawn die spawn die spawn die. Games that require tactics and thinking don't appeal to a mass audience so aren't given the time of day.

BF2 was great, Project Reality mod is great if you prefer a more realistic game.

I bought Arma II and Arma II OA hoping that would be an updated version of Project Reality but it kinda fails as it has so many bugs. I'm waiting for the Project Reality team to release their Arma II mod. Arma II is a great base for a game it just isn't a game in itself, in my opinion anyway.

I know I've kinda gone offtopic here but meh...

Edit: I suspect they will release beta keys to everyone eventually so I won't be buying into it.

They must have realized that people who played the MoH beta were canceling their pre orders like crazy so they had to do something to get them back. I think it's actually kind of pathetic. I'll pass...make a game worth playing first DICE, then I'll think about it.

I think that's pretty spot-on.

Yeah, this is absolutely awful news. :(

What this means is, although I pretty much had my doubts to begin with, but this confirms that BF3 will indeed NOT BE a PC exclusive, and that makes me very, very sad.

No offense to console owners, I am one of you as well, but I really, really wanted this game to be a PC exclusive. As much as I have enjoyed the Bad Company games, they still have not come close IMHO to capturing the magic that was BF2. So this just really dashes my dreams of a true spiritual successor to BF2.

My question is does this apply to the folks who pre-ordered on steam? If not that would suck balls realmad.gif

Wow, after all the **** that happened with the PC version of BC2, and they give the BC3 beta invites to those who purchased MoH?

When I didn't think it was possible for me to hate EA/DICE anymore...
