trag3dy
MoH must be crap then... It's not so much that the game is bad in theory, it's just that the games that it's trying to copy do what they do better. If you want a death match game you play MW2. If you want objective based game BC2 is better. That's my opinion at least. And after how long it's taken them to fix bugs and other issues and the total douche bag they have in charge of balancing weapons in BC2, not to mention the completely sorry state of the MoH beta that should be rightly called an alpha.. needless to say that DICE has lost all respect they used to have. ViperAFK
In my opinion, Battlefield 2 was their last top title. I detest Battlefield 2142 and Bad Company 1 & 2 (as much as i like them) are just a completely different sort of game and failed to deliver the same kind of entertainment that Battlefield 2 has and does give me. 2142 > BF2
Nagisan
2142 < BF2 Fixed. I tried 2142, couldn't stand it for more than 5 minutes, went back to the glory of BF2 (that is, before I quit playing it a few years ago). If BF3 is anything like BF2, it will be the next EA game I will buy. BF2 was great, I just got bored after playing it for so long, add to that the issues it had on W7 (at least, before 1.5), and I cut my time playing it short. BF3 is good news, but the fact it is not a PC exclusive means its probably going to suck due to all the stuff that will be cut so it can fit on consoles. Lamp0
Totally agree, they just don't make games like BF2 anymore. I bought BC2 as I was sucked in by the graphics, sadly the maps are just way too small and the gameplay is repetitive - spawn die spawn die spawn die. Games that require tactics and thinking don't appeal to a mass audience so aren't given the time of day. Sounds like you just got annoyed with BFBC2 because you weren't winning. It's not any more of a "spawn die spawn die" type game than another shooter. And it certainly requires team play to win. I am still interested to see how the MOH SP turns out, as will be quite different to the MP. Though I almost certainly won't buy it for full new price. what
Sad. I'm not a PC gamer by any means, but I did play BF2 a hell of a lot and it was simply amazing. It should stay on PCs, but then with the time they've spent developing it, clearly they don't think they can milk the PC version as much as they can the consoles. Well, I guess it's up to someone else to make the ultimate PC MMOFPS now...

oceanmotion
Battlefield 3 is an unknown quantity. Who knows what Dice have planned, will they bother making a new engine over the Frostbite one, doubtful. Will they change the game play if Bad Company was successful, that's the worrying part. After two games in the series perhaps leaning more to Battlefield is what they will do but cleaned up for the console crowd and tightened up in general which is no bad thing. Wait and see, I doubt they will leave the PC crowd hanging, they know what they like but they have to base much of it for the console crowd, money to be made. They need a fine balance and nail the communities from the start, take advantage of each platform. Mods, bigger maps, more players for PC. They can make it work, will they do it however... The Angry Bunny
Maybe it's just me, but this seems stupid. BC2 hasn't even been out all that long, and already a basic clone is about to be released (MoH), and when you buy MoH you get a beta invite to BF3, which will play like BC2... Just doesn't make sense to me.

I mean this is the game that made DICE famous.. this is their main game.. their baby.. They know they have to give us at least 64 players per game, and it has to be better than Battlefield 2. I don't doubt it will... There is no doubt this game will come out on consoles.. but I am pretty sure you will see probably up 24 players or 32 players max on consoles.. I still expect the PC experience to handle a lot more.. I will say though that I have been disappointed by DICE due to their lack of quality control and cutting down game play.. but I'm guessing BC and BC2 were games for more casual war game players. They didn't want to put everything in because that is scheduled for Battlefield 3.

Because if we assume that BC2, or even, God forbid, that MoH 'beta' represents what they consider good quality game play I think you shouldn't get your hopes up. I like to be pleasantly surprised instead of horribly disappointed, so hope for the best but plan for the worst.

In BC2 my veteran status is 10 and I have played MoH beta on both PC and PS3 (not that there is any difference). I just noted that Battlefield 3 is DICE's baby.. it's what Halo was to Bungie for example.. It's that one game that they are known for.. and I'm positive they will do it justice.. trag3dy
I can get in the Beta without pre-ordering... MOH. Good knowing the right people. Can't wait for a date. Yeah, all you have to do is pre order BF3 instead. They've given beta access to every other game they've made recently through pre orders so it stands to reason.. Battlefield 3 is an unknown quantity. Who knows what Dice have planned, will they bother making a new engine over the Frostbite one, doubtful. Will they change the game play if Bad Company was successful, that's the worrying part. As for the game engine, it's been officially announced that BF3 for the pc at least will be running Frostbite engine 2.0. Where as Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor are using Frostbite Engine 1.5. It's also been said by the devs via twitter that BF3 will not support DirectX9(Or windows xp), only DX10 and 11 and they highly recommend a quad core processor with a 64-bit OS. http://twitter.com/r...tus/20028015661 http://twitter.com/r...tus/20028269889
sweetham
Have to agree with most of what has been said already. MoH beta is booty sweat, severely under impressed with a nowhere near finished game and do not believe they will fix most of it before release. Everything it is doing has been done before. Also have to agree that multi-platform games are ruining gaming experiences. Most developers get too unfocused and usually make at least one of the platforms suffer. Occasionally there will be a gem that shines on all platforms but more often then not the game sucks on at least one platform.
Another Canuck
MoH is going to end up the same as BF2. They released the Beta, didn't listen to a single bit of feedback, and quite literally, not a single bug was seemingly fixed in the retail release. It's now been half a year since the release and there's been three major patches, yet the game is still of Beta quality. As of the latest patch, you have a giant semi-transparent blue box covering nearly 1/2 your screen, and yet it went right through quality control. They just don't give a s****. They've got our money, and we're left beta testing a product that DICE doesn't give an aardvark's left testicle about anymore.
