+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 3, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted August 3, 2010 doubtful. i think all this move, kinect crap is a gimmick (like 3d tv). the chances of me actually buying something are slim to none. i don't get the concept of being out all day working, playing sports or drinking(which would be my case) then coming home and flopping around like a fish out of water to play games? I want to CHILL when im playing video games. I was talking about people interested in Move/Motion controls. They save money buying the starter kit over individual components. Ironman273
i don't know. it's just i went on amazon and looked it up and that's what it showed  OK, I was looking into it and it seems your links are for "Hot Future Releases" (emphasis mine). The link I posted is just the Bestsellers, which includes pre-orders, but should be for the best selling items, even if the sale is a pre-order.. I wonder how Amazon differentiates between them. chaos mage
Kinect will be good on my 360 and my PC, but I plan to wait until after the first batch of stuff comes out to grab it. Early adopting is just not my thing.
+Mystic MVC Posted August 3, 2010 MVC Share Posted August 3, 2010 Right...The general public/casual gamers barely have any idea (if any at all) of Move or Kinect. Regardless, have fun arguing everybody, I'll wait until Christmas when we actually have more definitive numbers to talk about no matter which way things go. Emn1ty
If you were to buy 1 x PSEye, 2 x PSMove, 2 x Subcontroller it would cost you ?117. Kinect costs ?125. (based on two people playing on each as Kinect can only have 2 players at once). And then there's the fact many Move titles don't need a sub controller at all, and those that do can be used with a DS3 for skint people. Kinect just costs too much in the UK, especially for people who play on their console on their own/only multiplayer online. My only problem with this comparison is that controllers die after a certain amount of time but my Live Vision Cam has worked for several years despite taking horrible care of it. Natal will be sitting in front of your TV, not moving or being handled vs. Move's controllers which will be handled, swung, possibly tossed (if people aren't careful), etc. The moment you need to replace a single controller on Move you have already significantly jumped up the price. This is how Move will in essense "nickel and dime" gamers. This effect was rediculously obvious when I worked at Target and sold Wii peripherals. It was amazing to watch customer's faces when they realized just how much money it actually cost to get a Wii for what they planned on doing. Hedon
Starter kit will only save them money if they want to play by themselves, and don't want to play all Move supported games. In the USA, the Move is more expensive than this quote from AB. Not sure why they price them less in Europe, but odd: If you were to buy 1 x PSEye, 2 x PSMove, 2 x Subcontroller it would cost you £117. PS Move 1 Starter Kit - $99.99 1 Move Controller $49.99 2 Nav Controllers $29.99 each $209.96 for two people to play all Move supported games. Kinect 1 Kinect $149.99 $149.99 for two people to play all Kinect supported games.

That's quite possibly the most retarded thing I've ever heard, starter kit will save anyone money who doesn't own a PSEye, regardless of how many controllers you want to buy on top. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 3, 2010 Veteran Share Posted August 3, 2010 Not sure why they price them less in Europe, but odd: Move is more expensive than Kinect in EU, AB didn't use RRP prices to undercut MS.

Ironman273
Hmm... I'm still bothered I never got an answer to why the Kinect is tracking so much better than the Move on Amazon...
Hedon
Hmm... I'm still bothered I never got an answer to why the Kinect is tracking so much better than the Move on Amazon... From what I have read, most places show Kinect leaps ahead of Move in presales. Surprising, considering Kinect is much further out for release. CGar
Probably because everyone who would get a Move probably has a Wii already, which does pretty much the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the Wii, Move, or the Kinect that much in the gaming space, but the Kinect is infinitely more intriguing as a piece of hardware, and has lots of hidden/untapped potential. The Wii-mote/Motion market has been milked for years now, and most of the ideas have been explored now, so it takes a lot of creativity to re-"wow" us. chaos mage
perhaps everyone who is buying the move is not getting it from amazon? Even so they have a huge marketshare. It's as good a benchmark to go by as any other.
Ironman273
Even so they have a huge marketshare. It's as good a benchmark to go by as any other. That's exactly the answer. It's a good indication of sales/interest/trends. Since they have marketplaces in different countries it allows for comparisons also.
