Sethos
Off topic/ MW2 on veteran is easy :p Yeah, that was watered down big-time - You could just run through it.
Manish
You just agreed with me which is good. ... Yep, I wasn't disagreeing with you. :) Just picking up on your last point though, what exactly were you hoping would be added as an option? More game saves, check points or what? Don't most "modern" games already come with a varying degree of AI difficulty? If a game has a Easy, Normal, Hard and Extreme (or whatever) difficulties, I don't think more checkpoints or save-as-you-go is needed. Just choose an easier setting, simples! I think games should adapt to what the player wants, ask him/her if he would like auto-saves, an option in the menu and checkpoints. That way everyone wins. If there had to be a change, I'd prefer it if all games would have different difficulty settings, with the Easy mode having more customisable options of saving and checkpoints. If you could save anywhere on a game's hardest mode, it would just be pointless.

If you could save anywhere on a game's hardest mode, it would just be pointless. except for supcom which had awesome ai, most video games i've played at aleast, the difference between ai was non existent really based on difficulty settings. the difference in dificulties seems to be a varaition of number of enemies to kill, amount of hp enemies have, and how much damage their bullets/attacks do to you. now css bots were a bit different here, as higher dificulties they'd pretty much instant headshot you as soon as you came into view like an actual player with an aim bot but on lower dificulty they'd run more(which you can hear and tell where they are) and they stare at you for a second or two before starting to shoot. but most ai just rigidly follow a script. overall it's no more challenging than a wow hardmode, and is just a matter of math. more hp = more dps/bullets needed and so on. Hedon
Yeah, that was watered down big-time - You could just run through it. Nice...glad you could just go through it, eyes closed. Sethos > all gamers. Oddly enough, nobody on my friends list has completed MW2 on veteran. I guess I suck.
MightyJordan
Yeah, that was watered down big-time - You could just run through it. Well, the major difference between MW2 and MW1 was the absence of infinitely spawning enemies, so yeah, it was watered-down a bit, but it was still pretty tough. Sethos
Well, the major difference between MW2 and MW1 was the absence of infinitely spawning enemies, so yeah, it was watered-down a bit, but it was still pretty tough. That's not quite true, they did remove the constantly spawning enemies in very few areas but it was basically a mental cheat. When you killed X amount of enemies it would say "Checkpoint Reached" or whatever, but if you waited another wave would come at you, it would say "Checkpoint Reached" again and it'd just repeat that. I noticed that on quite a few occasions and it's the checkpoint that gets people because you usually only get those when you progress. But on the whole they did focus more on squads you could kill and they would be gone, that is true but the infinite wave spawning can still be found. As for MW2 they did make up for the easy veteran mode by including Spec Ops - Still not through because it's hard to find a solid partner but some of the later missions can provide a reasonable challenge but they still aren't on par with, say, Call of Duty 2 on veteran - That's my sweetheart  Nice...glad you could just go through it, eyes closed. gadean
Not kidding at all. Why not allow people like us that struggle with games to be able to go to "start > save". For those who prefer the extra challenge and are better at games, they can choose not to save. Simple actually. That takes away ones bragging rights. Being able to save anytime more or less guarantees that the player is going to be able to beat the game with either enough skill or determiniation. Personally, I like being able to save anytime I want. Here are my reasons: 1) I don't like being tied down to checkpoints. I am a casual gamer. If I have things to do I can stop playing without losing any progress. 2) It is less frustrating during challenging parts. I play for fun - not for OCD-like accomplishments or bragging rights. Who cares if I die 150x? If I have fun playing it what does it matter? 3) I hate playing the same mission/level over and over again because I keep dying. (GTA comes to mind - main reason I never bothered to beat it.) There were some posts previous to mine where others suggested changing the save style based on the skill level. I would rather have the save style as an option - and reward each style with a trophy/etc.
