What game do you credit for turning you into a "Gamer"?

I'm loving this thread... the obvious generation gaps are, well, obvious. heh

I forgot about the Amiga. There was a side-scrolling robot game with a kick-ass

heavy metal soundtrack that ate up a bunch of my time back in the day. Too bad

that system flopped.

Perhaps you mean

It is one of my favorite all time games. I miss Psygnosis. They made some great games

hmmm

i can remember gaming on Intellivision and the first PC games i played were on a monochrome orange monitor... it's hard for me to pick really because as a kid i just loved video games... but i'd say the first games i remember putting a lot of time into was Civilization I and Master of Orion

those games taught me to be patient and i really had to sit there and learn the games

Where to begin? Quake, Stonekeep, Diablo, Warcraft, Age of Empires, Command & Conquer (esp Red Alert), and Wing Commander (DOS)

Those games made me into a gamer. However, the game that sealed the deal into addiction status (Quite a bit later): Diablo 2 + LOD.

The first game I owned and got hooked on was Super Mario Brothers for my brand new NES. The series that really got me into one of my favorite genres was Mega Man 1-5.

Seriously though... Has to be Super Mario World 3 for the NES.

Think it was the first game I played, pretty much hooked after that.

hahahahaha. ET. I think that was the first game I ever beat.

I also remember Impossible Mission on the C-64 and the creepy guy who started off saying: "Stay awhile......Stay forrrrevvveeerrrrr!!!!" Never did beat it though. Couldn't figure out the puzzle pieces.

Aladin, Sonic (1 and 2) and Soccer 96 on the SMS. I played games before that time, but those 3 were the ones that really got me into "serious" gaming.

Oh, and the first game I ever beat was Day of The Tentacles (Lucasart), which is awesome. I didn't beat Maniac Mansion thou, which is a shame :(
