game_over
Is there an easy way to create this in photoshop? or any brush sets or shapes to use to get the same effect? i don't really know what it's called so i've not found anything.
0 bolerodan
Hmm you could make a Brush preset yourself with that image. Convert it to Greyscale (black and white). Now im assuming the brown color of this shape, is the shape you want. I would make sure thats black, then fill the under half of it white. Go to edit->define brush preset. Rough overview of creating your own brushes. Otherwise you may need to just search for some free brush presets / shape presets for a similar shape. 0 game_over
I could do that but i want to be able to resize it without it pixelating, what would that shape be called?
0 Konstanov
I could do that but i want to be able to resize it without it pixelating, what would that shape be called? Trace it with the pen tool, you'll get a vector shape it won't pixelate.
0 bolerodan
Ah if its a shape you're going for, you may need to do what SpecialK has sugested, then you have created your own shape. I think if you dont want to or know how to use the pen tool, you'll just have to search google for some free PS Shapes and visually find this shape since I dont even know if there really is a name for this. 0 DMHolt57
Is really easy to use the magic wand to select either top or bottom half and use the path button on right, click the little circle icon with arms at bottom to set the path, then go to edit at top and select "define custom shape" name it and do same for other half after you select it, then save the shape set with a new name. You have it as two shapes that scale as you draw and can be colored or styled, matched together as one, whatever...

0 sweetsam
Its pretty easy to do. There might be a easier way to do this. But here is how I did it. Step 1 - Isolate a repeating unit and trace it using the pen tool in to a custom shape. Step 2 - Determine the size you need and create a single unit using the shape just created. Step 3 - Select the single unit created and define it as a pattern. Step 4 - Apply the pattern as a fill or overlay on to the layer as required. Here is the result of these steps... 0 sweetsam
You are right its a lot easier than that. Step 1 - Make a strip that you want the edge on Step 2 - Select Filter > Distort > Wave Step 3 - Select the following options and tweak from there as required Type: Sine Number of generators: 1 Wavelength: Min - 1 max - 150 Amplitude: Min - 30 Max - 30 Scale: Vert - 60% Horriz - 100% This will get you a strip that looks like a wavy ribbon. Step 4 - Fill one side with the required shade and its done !
