Sweevo
I've just got myself a Linksys BEFDSR41W router. My network is working great - print server, wireless LAN etc, but the first time I tried it with XBox live it couldn't connect - I've tried some of the workarounds like adding the XBox to the DMZ of the router but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Just wondered if anyone out there has managed to get it working
SweetRiverBaynes
I used to play on Xbox Live fine with that router. But I haven't been able to play recently because of modding it.
.....
Xbox live doesn't officially support wireless networking, although it should work. http://www.xbox.com/LIVE/Connect/linksysrouters.htm These are the only supported linksys routers (although some may need workarounds they still work)

Steven
lol, I just assumed it was, as it was BEFDSR41W BEFSR41 = Cable/DSL Router + 4 Port Switch BEFW11S4 = Cable/DSL Router + 4 Port Switch + 802.11b Wireless Access Point WRT54G = Cable DSL Router + 4 Port Switch + 802.11g Wireless Access Point :)
Sweevo
Thanks for all your help everyone. I managed to solve it myself - for anyone who might find it useful here's what I had to do: 1) Assign a static IP address to the XBox 2) Setup the XBox DSN to point to my ISP's DNS servers 3) Setup the XBox Gateway to point to the router 4) Setup port forwarding on the router for the following: Port 3074(TCP & UDP) and Port 88 (TCP & UDP) to forward to the XBox 5) Enable the DMZ on the firewall and set its IP to that of the XBox, then connect the XBox to port 4 of the router. 6) This is the one that did it - disable DHCP on the router! - it's a real pain but it was the only thing that worked. RazerBack
That's odd, I'm using the BEFW11S4 = Cable/DSL Router + 4 Port Switch + 802.11b Wireless Access Point Plugged in the ethernet cable, turned on XBOX and instant LIVE The only thing it added to my router info - see pic But then I haven't tried hosting a game yet All computers are static, while the XBOX is DHCP, but I'll be sure to grab that info in case something screws up
